'Power' is the appropriately named new CD by Voice Industrie. Combining both ebm and trance, Voice Industrie has managed the difficult task of becoming one of the most diverse and accomplished of the ADD bands. On their 2002, 'Power UP' MCD, Voice Industrie previewed three of the songs that appear on this release: "Up," "I Feel Love," and "Sky." I cannot say enough about the band's rendition of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love." It is absolutely tremendous, complete with disco-noir grooves and infectious dance beats. The overall production on this CD is of very high quality, and the songs all flow nicely into one another. The trance aspects of the CD are also well done, which is an accomplishment. To combine trance and dance beats effectively, one must almost take a contortionist's approach to music making, for the genres, when introduced simultaneously, are diametric by nature. As I had stated on my earlier review of the 'Power Up' MCD, the band needed to push the music in a more volatile direction, which they certainly did. However, volatility does not imply chaos. Voice Industrie is in complete control throughout and has created an excellent CD.
