I've not seen this American quartet mentioned much in the usual channels so they seem to have remained something of a well-kept secret thus far. This situation needs to change pronto as this 5 track EP heralds the arrival of a most talented band with some superb songs to call their own.
This EP will appeal to those who like their music with a harder, punchy edge with the opening "Paradox" immediately impressing with it's solid, punchy rhythms and bass backing which contributes to the track's emotional and darker edge which is again present on the downbeat "Faders That Fade".
The hard hitting bass that provides backing for the superb "Gold" wanders close to electro/EBM styles and this is likely to be the track that most take notice of."Still Love Me" is full of feeling and mixes more modern electronic motifs into the mix, not inspired by the 80s as so many are but demonstrating a more up to date approach."Torn" completes the EP and is a slower piece, again full of feeling. The rhythms again hark towards modern electronica and this mixing of such styles into traditional song structures mean that Untold Dream are always likely to spring the odd surprise with such an open minded approach to music.
As a taster for more delights to come this EP couldn't be more welcome, I for one will definately look forward to hearing more music from this promising band.
