MERGING OCEANS
Do you believe in love at first hearing? After listening to this beauty you probably will. Although the title might sound like a Tangerine Dream album this is anything but dreamy music as Rasc and Gun, both members of the well respected band The Fair Sex have teamed up with dancefloor expert Krischen J.E Wesenberg and on this debut single and they put all their experience and know-how in their respective areas to good use, presenting melodic but powerful and utterly enthralling music that will totally blow your mind!! If comparisons are what you're looking for the vocals have a definate similarity to Icon Of Coil and the way that the music expertly builds up a head of steam is reminiscent of Ivory Frequency. The combination of hard rhythms and intensely hypnotic sequencing with more ambient restful flavours (which go someway towards justifying the ambient-sounding title!) is a masterstroke of power and subtlety until it takes off with an almighty blast that is sure to send clubbers and home listeners alike into ecstasy. Very much the same can be said of "Sonic Agony" which appears in two versions, both opf which lack nothing in terms of power. The touching piano of the original brings an effective counterpoint to the powerful electro that marks the latter sections. This is a Rotersand's forte so when you're onto something this good then why not make the most of it? Again when the music reaches full throttle it truly is something to behold and I can't believe there are any electro lovers out there who aren't going to be totally bowled over by this. "Nature Paints It White" is a more laidback piece with more ambient touches and vocodered vocals and, had this been a vinyl single would have made a good b-side. As it is the breathing space and variation it provides is no bad thing.
I'm fast running out of superlatives to describe this stunning music and I can hardly wait to hear more of the same.
