This amazing soundtrack for the film Zoetrope was composed by the brilliant Brian Williams. The work of Brian Williams has presented the listener, over the years, with the opportunity to listen to some of the best ambient electronic music currently being produced. This Lustmord project explores, electronically, the dark recesses of psychological trauma through the use of breathless ambience, blinding light and pitch black, textural rumbles and cracks, and sheer blasts of speed and sound. The film, Zoetrope, is based on Franz Kafka's In The Penal Colony, and depicts the stress of mental oppression, physical imprisonment, and psychological torture. Brian Williams manages to carve this sound from cold damp stone and stainless steel by enveloping the listener in a wave of molten lead that seemed to originate from a timeless past, then disappears into darkness while consuming all oxygen. The soundtrack is reminiscent of the glow of industrial waste and grinding machinery of the Eraserhead soundtrack, but with the sophisticated drama that only Brian Williams can muster. Track 10 includes stunning visuals from Zoetrope's trailer. The film's style is a combination of visuals from Eraserhead, the Castle scenes from the film Kafka, and the paranoia of PI. If you are a Lustmord fan, this will definitely not disappoint you. The CD is distributed in the U.S. through Projekt Records and is available to order from Projekt's store.
