This single was released at the end of 2001 to mark the 100th anniversary of the first Transatlantic radio transmission by Marconi which fell on 12th december 2001.
The title track is presented as the 'Radio Edit' and the longer 'Album version' while the instrumental closer "Into The Ether" reprises this theme and boasts some fine soloing from ShirleyAnn Davies on her Electronic Woodwind Instrument. Hers is a valuable contribution towards the band's sound which seems to be moving closer to synthpop in this case whilst retaining that distinctive Kinetik 'signature' while Andrew Slegt takes over Colin Jordan's vocal duties and proves himself more than capable in this area. In keeping with the single's theme "Tuning In" is a 41 second journey across your radio dial.
Based on their recent output the forthcoming album "Modem Times" (which will hopefully be available at the band's forthcoming gig at Elektrofest in London) should be a cracker as this continually improving band prove their worth.
