This extended double EP (for so it has been described and, let's face it, 34 tracks is about as extended as you can get!) is the first ever release on the Vendetta Music label, resurrecting the work of the Belgian old-skool artist Tcheleskov Ivanovitch AKA Grandchaos, being remixed by a veritable 'who's who' of EBM. Nader Moumneh, head of Vendetta and compiler of the project, was adamant that only those artists whose ideals match the old-skool style of the originals should be involved which means you'll not find any techno, electronica or hellektro here, just no-nonsense EBM like they used to make before the world and his wife started having a go with such revered artists as Cobalt 60, Armageddon Dildos, Plastic Noise Experience, Sphere Lazza and Serpents rubbing shoulders with lesser-known names who are nevertheless keeping the flame burning, among them the criminally underrated Electro Synthetic Rebellion, Datacode Division, Terminal State, Ionic Vision, Panzerlab, Severe Illusion, Synaptic Defect, Militant Cheerleaders On The Move, Kifoth and Grandchaos, of course (wot, no Spetsnaz?). Additionally the re-emergence of the long dormant Trial, Brain Leisure, Digital Factor and Tyske Ludder (whose new album is a must, BTW!) should raise a smile or two among the old skool EBM crowd who will, no doubt, consider this something close to heaven.
By using a number of different tracks this does avoid the feeling of boredom that usually sets in after a few versions of the same song although the fact that the chorus of "God Is Dead" is the most instantly memorable motif to be found here actually works against it in that, with 12 versions to get through, it does get a bit much after a while, so much so that only the most devoted old skool lovers are likely to be able to get through the whole EP in one go. For that reason this is probably more suited to dipping into in small doses but if it sounds like your sort of thing, it's an enjoyable, good value for money release.
