God Module is based out of Florida and is comprised of Jasyn Bangert and Andrew Ramirez. The Perception E.P. varies from the powerful electro/industrial-edge of Perception and Interference, to the contagious electropop of Transcend. The E.P. is a collection of these three original songs and a diverse pool of remixed versions. Totaling about sixty minutes, the eleven tracks somehow avoid the chasm of redundancy as the remixes flow nicely without sounding like clones of one another. The overall strength of Perception surprised me, because normally E.P.s that include numerous remixes of the same song can be, simply put, excruciating to listen to. This painful exercise was avoided by the strength of the original material and the disparate artists included in the remix process.
As of September 11, 2002, quoting the band’s website, “Andrew Ramirez is no longer a member of God Module. His involvement with the Perception E.P. was his last in regards to this project.” It will be interesting to see how this effects future God Module projects.
