Second single taken from the second album ‘Euromantique’, this single is an eight track ‘E.P’ which includes three new tracks including a Vangelis cover version and remixes by B-Machine, Soviet and Simulator.
The main track here is ‘Are You Falling In Love Again?’, appearing in two versions, a single version and an excellent remix from Soviet. The Track itself is very Kraftwerk based all do not as catchy as their previous single ‘Neon Rain’ its still another excellent single that will go down well in the Synth Pop scene, while Soviet’s simple and catchy analogue style of Synth Pop makes a great remix that’s in the same style of ‘Neon Rain’.
Both the two new tracks are excellent from the especially impressive ballad ‘Somehow’ to the mid-paced ‘Never Is Forever’, while I’m not familiar with the original version of the Vangelis track ‘Don’t Be Foolish’, but its similar in style to the two new tracks featured and fits in perfectly to make another excellent track. There is also a remix of another ‘Euromantique’ track ‘Legacy’, a ‘Club Mix’ by the band themselves, the track itself is not as heavy as the original version on the album, this version is more in line with the newer tracks on this ‘E.P’.
Regarding the three remixes, all are mainly excellent, especially the remixes of both ‘Kinder Days’ by B-Machine and ‘Are You Falling In Love?’ by Soviet. B-Machine keep the same mid-pace sound and style on ‘Kinder Days’ but add ‘blips & bleeps’ through out the track itself while Simulator add an expected heavier edge to ‘Legacy’ with their E.B.M influenced Synth Pop, an ideal artist to remix this track. This ‘E.P’ is one of the rarer occasions where the right acts and artists where chosen to remix the tracks.
I’ve no idea of what most Synthpoppers think of Ganymede and their style of pure Synth Pop, but for me they are one of the better and more consistent bands on both the present and American Synth Pop scene and this is another excellent release with a great selection of tracks.
