The second album from Ganymede featuring 12 tracks including two remixes from Electrosquad and Cruxshadows plus the previously released single ‘Neon Rain’ (Album Mix) and their second and latest release the ‘Falling E.P’ featuring the track ‘Are You Falling In Love Again?’ taken from the album itself. Ganymede haven taken a step forward from their previous album ‘After The Fall’ and have added something different here and their like the Future Pop influenced ‘Legacy’ or the female backing vocals on certain tracks, but still retaining their distinct brand of Synth Pop.
As expected there are many excellent tracks, some of the better tracks to stand out include the opening title track ‘Euromantique’, the single ‘Neon Rain’, ‘It’s Not Enough’ and the more up-tempo ‘This Wasn’t The First Time’ and ‘The Final Year’ (both ideal choices, if a third single where to be released from the album) also the more mid-paced ‘Kinder Days’. Other excellent tracks of note are the lighter and bouncy ‘Magic’ and the slow to mid-paced ‘Love Games’ also the slightly darker and heavier edge on the Future Pop influenced ‘Legacy’ works very well, leaving the album with an excellent finish.
The only ‘fault’ this album has is the inclusion of the two remixes by Electrosquad and Cruxshadows, I’m not exactly in favour of adding remixes to any album, but Electrosquad add a light and lazy Summer feel to ‘Neon Rain’, nice, but it takes away the pace and catchy chorus and almost makes the track itself sound boring while apart from some stupid ghost like sound effects Cruxshadows add a good remix of ‘Only Pictures Cry’.
Ten tracks of perfect Synth Pop to produce another perfect Synth Pop album, a perfect example of what Synth Pop should be and clearly one of the better American Synth Pop bands.
