NO CANDEL LIGHT
The duo of Kay Hartel and Mario Fritzsche, AKA German band Davantage have been making a name for themselves of late and this excellent single shows why with 5 tracks of EBM excellence that has everything you could ever wish for. A most potent mix of hard pounding percussion, some techno influences and excellent melodics make this a most infectious proposition that is certain to do the business in the clubs. The Future Trail remixes the title track and "Defense" are not radically different from the originals (a few ravey effects notwithstanding) which is no bad thing as Davantage offer virtually perfect EBM with "Defence" in particular proving a total killer that no EBM fan should be without. The slightly darker "The Warming" with it's imposing vocals impresses for similar reasons before "Switch Off" reveals a slightly more raw side in a manner not unlike labelmates Fiendflug.
This superb single acts as a good taster for their album "Global Badlands" and is one to investigate without delay.
