Biography Solemn Assembly was formed in 1989 by Joe Virus & Andy Baker after the demise of their cult noise outfit VAMPIRE CATHEDRAL. After Baker left the band in 1992, Solemn Assembly's lineup has been a revolving door for a who's who list of Dallas' most talented electronic musicians.
Solemn Assembly's music has evolved and changed over the years, but it has always been a varied sound, from Power Noise and Distorted Techno to EBM and Synthpop. Solemn Assembly will NEVER limit itself by sticking to a single genre classification or catergory. The music is a mirror of what is in Joe Virus' heart and mind. Solemn Assembly was featured on T.I.A.M.P. Produktion Group's CD "TIAMP: TACTICS OF INFILTRATION" in 1998, and have released a slew of demo tapes and CDs. Performing live since 1994, Solemn Assembly has opened for Spahn Ranch, Sheep On Drugs, Deathline International, Mentallo & the Fixer, Imperative Reaction, Provision, Test Dept., Noxious Emotion, Puncture, Terrorfakt, E-craft, Cause & Effect, and many more national acts, as well as headlining the Spellbondage II festival at Deep Ellum Live in 1999 and the Cyberpunx Not Dead party at The ChURcH in 2006. |
