Dream Cypher is a half english, half mexican musical experiment, a combination of gothic temptress Velvet Shadow, and EvilMoon Project's Alex G. Together they create a danceable portrayal of the darker side of life.

Dream Cypher - a one half english, one half mexican, musical experiment!

How did the name come about?

Dream Cypher came about due to both of our cultures. In mexican culture there is a tale told to children about dreams, and in england we are very curious to find out the mean of our dreams - as to decifer them, so we came up with Dream Cypher.

Band History :

Alex G. is the founding member of mexican industrial darkwave creation EvilMoon Project, the first official shows being in 2001 and their popularity has grown dramatically over the last few years. A talented musician, he has kept developing his vision for the EvilMoon Project, and over the years he has matured the sound to capture audiences across the world. Now he is also one half of the gothic industrial electro project Dream Cypher, pairing up with the english composer and vocalist Velvet Shadow. Originally the arrangement was just on a collaborative basis, but after realising the strong musical chemistry within their ideas, the collaboration soon led to them in agreement to forming Dream Cypher.

Velvet Shadow has been a music maker from a very early age, she began her music career in her schooling, where she studied voice, violin, piano and composition, as well as acting and dramatic arts. Her first song was written when she was 16 years of age, and her song writing grew from then on. Writing as a solo artist, last year she signed with Drop Dead Records in the UK to release her first EP titled ElectroGoth. Her previous themes were around angels, demons and the relationships in our everyday lives.
