Biography
Heathcliff and Catherine starts its activity in Rome (Italy) in 2005 by the will of Stefano Teatini, who is also a member (singer and samples programmer) of another band: Meschalina, whose last full length has been produced by the Japanese label RB-Records Japan and which is now working on its second album (it will be out in June 2007).

Even if it gets inspiration from apocalyptic folk band like CURRENT 93 and NATURE & ORGANISATION and it likes Electro-dark contaminations, Heathcliff and Catherine can’t be placed inside a specific music style, because its aim is that of blending music and poetry, classic forms and romantic contents, past and modernity, singing and drama, orchestral symphonies and electronic sounds. This music project is classic, romantic, decadent and modernist at the same time, and it aspires to construct and deconstruct, build and break its musical structure, reaching its final purpose in a succession of Icarean flights and masochistic falls. H&C aspires to define its dualism and its contradiction through its art, and represents the duplicity of the universal balance itself. H&C is therefore day and night, male and female, Goddess and God, white and black, Sun and Moon, Ideal and Nothingness, Heaven and Abyss, Yin and Yang… H&C sets itself the task of raising the passion for its cultural roots (it’s H&C ‘s unconditional imperative!), and, by virtue of its nationalistic feelings, it decides not to give up the purpose of doing its duty to the language of Dante Alighieri and Francesco Petrarca, and of using, for its songs’ lyrics, no other idiom than its mother tongue: the wonderful Italian! At the moment, the band is made up by three members: Stefano Teatini (keyboards, piano, samples and programming), Chiara Ferralis (female vocals) and Roberto Baldassari (male vocals). This is the line up which recorded H&C ‘s first official single.

This single, titled “Regina della notte” (“Queen of the night”), contains two unpublished songs (“Regina della notte” and “Soli deo gloria”) and a bonus track: the second track ‘s instrumental version. The single, which lasts more than 23 minutes, was out on the 30th April of the year 2006 (in honour of the Celtic feast of Beltane) and will be followed by a full length album which will last about one hour and will be out within the end of the year 2007 (maybe on the 21st of December, in honour of the Celtic feast of Yule).

All the songs contained in the single “Regina della notte” has been fully written, arranged and composed by Stefano Teatini, recorded by Mauro Matteucci at Legend Digital Studios (Rome) and mixed in Trento by Mauro Andreolli (at Das Ende Der Dinge Studios). The songs has been fully interpreted by the band’s official line up (Teatini, Ferralis, Baldassari), except for the first track ‘s bass line, which has been recorded by Francesco Grieco.
