Tristraum is a trio from Denver, Colorado USA. Our sound is mixture of synthpop, darkwave and goth. We write in minor keys usually. Lyrical content is dark. Sex, love and death are throughout. Our remixes tend to be more upbeat.. progressive... trance at times...

Our first single was 'Shiver' in 2003 in Intrapop Records (Germany). It featured some remixes from Assemblage 23 and Echo Image. Our album 'Gray' was released in Feb, 2006. Our second single 'First Embrace' was released in March, 2006. Our songs have appeared on countless compilations and our remixes of other bands are always floating around. Tristraum means 'dismal dream', or 'dream of an elegant affair'. It's a made-up German word from two words Trist & Traum (to dream). The American meaning of Tryst is to have a short love affair. The band was started in 2003 out of the ashes of Spanky music project and Twitch Remix Service before that.

Pierre and Randall started Section 44 Records in 2005 to release Tristraum and various other projects. Since then, our label has grown to include seven acts and two more label partners. Section 44 has a one of the top electro Live 365 stations and an active forum.
