OK, approval given to use EGN IDs on the comp. But to reiterate, this will not be an official "EGN" comp, nor will it be titled so. It just will be a mp3 CD with EGN members...

As would I, though I'm probably more "dance" than synthpop, etc, etc. I have a track I'm willing to donate - "Unreal" at http:/www.artistlaunch.com/seanx - All I need is to know if you guys are using it
    ZEDRECS

OK, I'm starting to think this will have to be done by snail mail - Since I'm going to want to get "release" documentation. I'm going to set up a PO box shortly, as well as exact specifications to which to send stuff.
I was thinking of going with DollarCD.com but perhaps that option isn't as good as I think it is. Any other suggestions? I cant find anything as cheap unless I "go it alone". In that case there may be a $1 submission fee.

i'm interested in helping out with this release.

OK folks, I've decided to go with DollarCD.com and the online only submission format - so everyone will probably need a scanner (for signatures) unless someone can come up with another idea (online fax?).

Additionally, I wrote the "contract" such that anyone who wishes to copy the CD can (as long as it remains in its entirety). Its will be a "freeware" compilation.

    This is the contract:
    http://www.ceoxime.com/mp3comp-contract.txt
This is what will be in the "readme" file on the CD (probably in HTML format on the CD)
    http://www.ceoxime.com/mp3comp-readme.txt

I'd like comments - I'll be out of town next week, but after that I'll set this thing up.

    I will add a track
    www.myspace.com/pswk
    www.popstarwhokills.com (ElectroRock)
    www.myspace.com/youngjoon (Breaks)
    www.myspace.com/grep (IDM)
    www.myspace.com/requiemnoise (Industrial)

\"There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterward you can remove all traces of reality.\"
    - Pablo Picasso

\"The world only goes round by misunderstanding.\"
    - Charles Baudelaire

    \"It is quality, not quantity.\"

\"why is it feel like a greatful dead show here? like that hippe that constantly talks about one band and how they changed their lives.\"

PLEASE NO MORE \"I am a robot music.\" You are not a robot. Learn to program better like human beings.\"

Electro is House music. If you don\'t like House music, please don\'t put down Electro, because it is trendy to say it. It might suprise you that Electro and House music were invented by Gay Black Americans in the mid 80s. They weren\'t invented by the beatless people who like to coin new trendy phrases.

I am so tired of \"I want to be Depeche Mode or Erasure for the last 25 years.\" I hope I am not the only one. 25 years is a quarter of century and about a 1/3 of human life. If a person spends a 1/3 of his or her life having the same tastes, I don\'t know if that person acquired enough information to have an interesting life or has a problem understanding he or she is no longer a teenager.

So called artists who never change, why do you call yourself an artist again?

OK folks, I've decided to go with DollarCD.com and the online only
submission format, unless someone wants to head up the "hard" version of submissions.

Additionally, I wrote the "contract" such that anyone who wishes to
copy the CD can (as long as it remains in its entirety). Its will be
a "freeware" compilation. So submit tracks only if you agree to
    this.

Heres what I have set up. Follow these instructions specifically and
you'll be guaranteed a slot, until I post here that the comp is full.
    1). Download http://www.ceoxime.com/mp3comp-contract.txt and
    http://www.ceoxime.com/mp3comp-readme.txt Fill out
mp3comp-contract.txt completely, make it the smallest legable type and print. Sign
and scan. Make sure it is as small as possible (file size) and ensure
    it is legable.

2). Fill out mp3comp-readme.txt as complete as you would like.

3). Upload your track in MP3 format with the properID tags to any
place that does not cause me significant headache's in downloading
(i.e. don't make me sign up for spam). Mp3.com is fine, as well as IUMA.
I will not accept songs over 10MB.

4). Email the URL of the song (URL of *THE* song if at all possible),
the scanned "contract" and the mp3comp-readme.txt to
comp-contract@ceoxime.com all in 1 email. I will probably reply with
an "accepted" email within a week or 2. Lets say the deadline for
    this comp is NOV 30.

If you send me an MP3 to any account, I will probably delete it.
Please dont send multiple times. If you send anything to my yahoo
account, it will probably bounce, and I'll be pissed.

If anyone thinks I forgot something, let me know asap!

Due to the "overwhelming requests" for a snail mail version of submissions, I
have goaded a friend of mine to lend his PO box. Here's the rules for snail
    mail submissions:

    1). Download http://www.ceoxime.com/mp3comp-contract.txt and
    http://www.ceoxime.com/mp3comp-readme.txt Fill out mp3comp-contract.txt
    completely, print, and sign.

2). Fill out mp3comp-readme.txt as complete as you would like.

3). Burn your song in MP3 format with the properID tags, along with the
mp3comp-readme.txt file. Your CD should have 2 files. I will not accept songs
    over 10MB.

4). Mail the CD with the 2 files - labeled with at least a marker (somehow
identifing your CD in connection with the contract) - and the contract to:
    things outside the skin
    P.O. Box 263
    Greenpoint Station
    Brooklyn, NY. 11222-0263

Feel free to forward this to any electronic music groups you are on.

    You know I'm in.

The other idea we could pursue is the artist financed retail ready package we've been kicking around at TWC and DS.

I've done a few of these, and they are too much work for me. plus this is more of a "level" playing field - everyone, weather or not they have money, can get in on this one. But if anyone else is into it, I won't stop you (and of course, the one's J mentioned might be a good option to get in on now too!)

Well, if enough chime in in favor of the more advanced version we can make a separate thread to discuss it. No reason not to do the easy-peasy one!
