\"You gave away your life\'s grace. I cannot protect you any more!\"
Indulging inaccuracy I\'m picking apart my friend Lizzie
Throw another word on me and watch me hurl it back
I know you! (I swear I do)
You\'re just like me- You\'re sipping a cup of pity
Aw!
Did I forget to mention I\'m the centre of attention
In my universe my pain\'s my pension
I know you! (I swear I do)
You\'re just like me-You\'re sipping a cup of dreams
Yeah!
Soul sloshing-don\'t shush me
Just listen to me -pretty little kitty in the sky
The bass of my laughter-my gut is the speaker
Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Sweet is my surprise!

I have to second this. Maria's voice just does something special to me. Especially on their cover of It's My Life from the Newer Wave 2.0 comp. Makes me melt everytime.Originally posted by interface2x
Maria from Battery, but they broke up a long time ago and I have no idea what they're up to now.
Last Of August from Aftermath gets me too. Around the two minute mark her voice always makes my breath catch.
Morally, there is no difference between a man who robs you on the street because you have what he needs or wants, and a government that accomplishes the same thing.

Ok my list:
Susan Orvis (NURVIS) - She's absolutely awesome, if you don't mind a bit of country fem vox with your synthpop
Helen Stepanova (Etherstrings) - One of the few females in this scene that can make a vocoder sound sweet
Megan Erben (Kiss the Star) - Beautiful melodies abound here.
Dorothea Brandt (Equatronic) - In a strange sort of way, she sounds spooky and gothy, but I like it.
Colleen Curtis (Entropy64) - Awesome voice, and sex appeal. She is the synthpop Stevie Nicks
Annette Strean (Venus Hum) - Also from Nashville, she can do some strange and wonderful things with her voice.
Also whomever the female singers are, for the ADD bands Somegirl and Daybehavior ... especially that "Moments I Couldn't Save" track ... that one is absolutely Enigma-esque.
And Kari Pettersen, the beautiful vocalist on Apop Berzerk's 'LNDP3."Originally posted by Bedsitter
Alison Moyet
Skye Edwards - Morcheeba
Louise Rutkowski - This Mortal Coil
I have their cd "Big Beautiful Sky," and I think she sounds too much like Bjork. Like she's TRYING to sound like Bjork. She has a pretty voice, though. I'd like to see her come up with her own style and not copy someone else's. But this is just my opinion, and keep in mind that I've never liked Bjork's voice.Originally posted by Synthpopalooza

- Re: Amy from Evanescence -- sounds fantastic on the album, but if you've ever seen their live performances (saw a couple on TV recently), she sounds REALLY forced. (... and not in a good way)
I've always really liked:
- Shirley Manson (even better live - I didn't realize what a great vocalist she was until I saw them live... and she had laryngitis at the time)
- Kristy Thirsk - probably best known for her work with Delirium, she used to be in a group called 'Rose Chronicles' - not electro, but really good (mostly because of her vox)
- Kristy from Azoic - like her voice better in some songs than others -- 'Lost' is still my fav, it's so passionate
... I'm sure there are others. I'm a sucker for chick vox. I just can't think straight right now.
