Question Last few releases you picked up that were good?

I admittedly blow a good $50-$75 a week on discs/vinyl and I dont even DJ other then a Live365 station I run ;p But anyway, just curious what the last few items people picked up that really stood out for them as good releases? I guess my recent favs have been:

    Interlace - Under the Sky
    Stark - Wield
    SITD - Laughing Stock
    Yendri - Fluch Und Segen
Disharmony - Moonflower (ok its a few months old..)
Suicide Commando - Face of Death

    Let downs:

    VNV Nation - Honor 2003
    Hocico - Disidencia Inquebrantable
    Toy - White Lights
La Floa Maldita - Salut Jacques
    Delerium - Chimera

Recent faves ( Some are old releases but new to me):

Claire Voyant~ everything they have out
    Imperative Reaction~Ruined
    cut.rate.box~Dataseed
    Goldfrapp~Black Cherry

2003 releases that are a MUST have:

    iris~Awakening
    Martin L. Gore~Counterfeit 2
    Covenant~Northern Light
    Low Technicians~Remembrance
    Venus Hum~Big Beautiful Sky

    Disappointments:

    Camouflage~Sensor
    Wolfsheim~Casting Shadows
    Nam Nam Bulu~Distances
    De/Vision~Devolution

I still haven't listened to the new T.O.Y. yet. I have heard clips of it and it sounded like Space Radio part two. I hope it isn't. I will listen to it later.

I LOVE C2. It's blippy and quirky along the electronic lines of Exciter. This blows C1 away!

Iīm very disappointed with 'Counterfeit 2', itīs really boring. Luckily I only paid $9 for it.

    Suicide Commando - 'Anthology'
    Alphaville - 'Crazy Show'
    Iris - 'Awakening'
    Camouflage - 'Sensor'
    Intuition - 'Further'
    Wolfsheim - 'Casting Shadows'
    Colony 5 - 'Structures'

Boring?! Um, well, ok if that is how you see it. I don't think it's boring at all. Yes, I will admit that it is a slower tempo album but it's not boring.

At least the music is good in Counterfeit 2. Clicks and cuts style. What is really boring is Paper Monsters.

And I'm really surprised with new Front 242. The album worth to leasten.

No, it's a bad album no matter how you say it. The lyrics are poor. The vocals are poor. The only good thing about it is the music, which Knox Chandler wrote. Dave needs Martin Gore!

Steph, maybe you are right and itīs not boring but is how I see it. So many tracks in a slower tempo for my taste is boring. I can listen to some tracks but not the whole album because then I fall asleep.

No, the band need Fletch. He may not play an instrument but he does play a vital role in the band.

I can tell that this thread has been hijacked but I will try to bring it somewhat back on track.

Recent purchases that absolutely smoked it:
Spektralized - (can't remember the name)
Spetsnaz - Grand Design (pure Nitzer Ebb clone but better done IMO)

oh, and I recently finally picked up Diorama's last one (I know, I'm late in the game) and I'm digging that one.

Natacha Atlas - Something Dangerous. It's excellent. Kinda runs the gamut stylistically, with a lot of sort of hip-hop/rnb tracks at the beginning of the album, some dnb stuff towards the middle, then some more ambient deleriumish stuff at the end. Not to everyone's taste, but her voice just blows my mind.

Lisa Carbon - Standards. Atom Heart does glitchy latin-lounge jazz on a moog. Not as good as a lot of hsi stuff, but fairly catchy. And a cover of "Space Oddity" that I like a lot.

uhh...my copy of Logic 6 came on a CD, does that count?

Really? Like what era NE clone? I always liked Orange Sector even though I think they are a clone ;p some bands pull it off good and some do not.
