    Default Which Printer to buy?

    So I'm considering buying a new printer, but can't decide on what to get. I'm looking to be able to print good quality pictures using my Digital Camera's memory card. Don't necessarily need to print it straight from the card, like you can on some of these new printers, but something that will give me great quality pics without having to actually take my memory card to a picture developing place.

    Any recommendations out there? I've been digging through the Best Buy website, and they have some really nice ones. I was even considering the ones with a built in scanner, but I already have a scanner. I guess I'm just looking for quality.

    My budget for this purchase is about $400. Any good deals any of you might know of for that price range that will get me what I'm looking for? I'm so out of touch with printer features.

    ::goes off to read more on printers::

    Oh yeah..my old printer sucks nowadays. heh Canon BJC-610. I remember buying this printer when it first came out, and it was one of the best at the time.

    :ff to read::

    I have had really good luck with HP printers. our $200 printer can print picture quality prints if you use good photo paper. As long as the paper isn't your normal standard paper i think it can do fine. I have heard reports that HP use the same printing mechanism in their more spendy printers that they use in the lower end. All they do in the lower end is make them slower.

    I haven't looked at the $400 dollar range but I really like the HP that we have and it is fast enough. The ppm that anyone advertises is never correct anyway.

    Cool...thanks for the suggestions. I've actually been looking at several HP models at Best Buy and at Costco. There seem to be some pretty nice ones out there. I've especially kept a close eye on this one:

    But that has a scanner, and I really don't need one. So will look for something similar without the scanner.

    Maybe this:

    or those one would be nice as well:

    So many choices. Guess I just need to go in there and see which one prints pictures the best at the best price.
