need advice.. new to electronic music

Hey everyone.
I'm pretty new to the EM scene. I'm a piano/guitar player. I just went out and bought a USB keyboard, and I'm on the waiting list for Reason 2.0! The only thing I've made electronic music w/ is little free programs like Fruity Loops and Buzz.
This is all pretty new to me and i'm kind of confused about what kind of equipment i should look into buying. (synths, samplers, etc.?)
any recommendations about what i should start with? Is Reason 2.0 something i should buy?

Reason 2 combined with your USB controller keyboard will probably get you started in the right direction, and a benefit to you is that everything can stay in the digital realm. Do you have a decent sound card?
