    Talking Teaching my dear mother!

My mum asked me to burn her a cd with some songs.
She choose a couple of tunes like Baccara and Celine Dion, but the rest was up to me. She doesn´t like my musictaste, but I had to get her into it, so I put in Apoptygma Berzerk, ALPHAVILLE, Depeche Mode, New Concept among others. Cool hehehe.
She enjoyed the DM track, a remix of A question of time.

    Muahahahaha!
This is my way to get another family member into the fantastic electric world...

What Avil, you mean you haven't converted your mum to Alphaville yet?!

Well my mum's musical tastes mainly centre around Cliff Richard, so there's no hope of me converting her to my musical tastes...
I told her once that my CD burner won't work with any Cliff Richard songs - not sure if she bought that though

Classic Dan answer. You gotta love Dan.
    heh
I did the same thing Avil, but for my wife Michelle. She wasn't too much into the scene either, until I made her a few CDs. This method works.
...then again...she wasn't into Celine Dion either.

Retrofuture, how about an EBM cover of "Devil Woman"! Therin lies the road to conversion.

Would anyone really mind if Celine Dion went down in a fiery airplane disaster?

And while I'm on the subject, why was Celine Dion's (a Canadian) version of "God Bless America" played during the 4th of July fireworks celebration?

I don't have a clue when it comes to Celine, but Avil, that was a really sneaky idea...I love it!!! So did your mom freak out with the rest of the songs??? Which A-Pop songs and Alphavill songs did you use???

Imagine your mom screaming aloud and singing to the chorus of Assimilate..*LOL*

If my mom listened to and sang along with the stuff I'm into, I'd probably faint from shock

Yeah, honestly, if my parents started listening to the stuff I'm listening to, I'd probably think twice about popping in that next CD.

My mom thought my :Wumpscut: "Bunkertor7" cd was pretty cool. She told me to turn it up.

My mother basicly eats anything except rythmical.

BTW: Does anybody know what the best method is to indoctrinate parents into listening a specifiek type of band?

I imagine it would be a little easier for our European EGN members to convert their parents to synth music. What do you think?

Yeah synth music is more common in Europe, in contrast to our parents that mostly grew up with old time rock n' roll, and bubble gum pop tunes

Definatly. Like it was mentioned earlier electronic music has more airplay in general over in Europe. So it would be easier to introduce new music then it is for us Americans. Course I don't live at home anymore so I really have no hope of getting them to listen to my music.

Though my dad did take the "Synthpop Club Anthems" that I got for $2 back home with him.
