I live in the city and work in the burbs. (yuck) I hate cars, wish they weren't a requirement in my life. Morning and evening traffic take a psychological toll on people not entirely recognized. It makes quitting smoking harder to have that kind of frustrating downtime.

Re - driving in traffic.

I actually mind driving in traffic less than being stuck on public transportation. I live in the 'burbs and work in the Loop, so i'm doing the opposite commute. I tend to start feeling very anxious when I'm trapped into a schedule and can't control when I can leave the city The train I take only has two express's, so if I miss them i'm in for a loooong ride. I seem to have this zen driving thing down well though... I actually find it relaxing

I take a bus or get a Taxi, isn't so expencive like in US.

And is very easy to move here with public transports.

The South Zone of Rio where Copacabana, Ipanema and my home are, isn't large, so is very simple and cheap to move to anywhere without a car.

Aside a car is really better, but also is too much expensive for me.

Maybe when I release my CD here I can learn to drive and got one. What a dream!

I haven't test driven the Mini's yet - it'd be torture, as there's an 18 month waiting list for the S'. Sooo... I stop in the showroom every now and then to caress it. Heehee.

I think the Lotus I saw was either the Elige or Elise. The Elise was their race inspired vehicle, I think the Elige is the new one, and is slightly lower powered... when I saw it at the Chicago auto show it had a sticker price of 36k. Out of my range, but for a Lotus?!! Holy Bootiful car batman. I think the problem has always been emissions I guess? I thought the Esprits were street legal, but perhaps not.
