Ohhhhhhhh, I hear that that song is excellent! An email friend of mine saw the Except Europa show that you and Reagan were at. He raved about the show. He also posted pictures of it and that is how I found out about Except Europa. I would love to hear it. Thanks!

I definitely think that you know Steven. He posts here as I'm not the one. I saw a picture of you standing/dancing right next to him so I know that you will know who he is.

I heard that Reflection Theory is playing at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas - in the Canyon Club. Same night as Moby. Is this really true?

I don't doubt it! They opened for the Pet Shop Boys at the Dallas show. They are that good!

Yes, I've seen RT quite a few times. In fact, I was at the PSB that night, but missed the RT show. I was busy mingling with Chris and Neil backstage and lost total track of time!! HA!

    ...(not joking here)... :-)

    Smug as a BUGGG! Heeeeyyyyy!!!

Anyway, I think so too. But, Persida does have an awesome voice. Their new stuff really is good, considering the fact that they lost an songwriter when Reagan left the band.

Joel --- There's good news & bad news here.

Good news, you have introduced me to another GREAT band. I like "Reflection Theory" !! Definitely another cool find !!

Bad news, I can't resist the urge to buy the CD....... I did it. Oh my, I've spent so much $$$ on CDs expenses this month !! Now, I can just picture what my reaction is gonna be when I receive my my credit card bills at the end of the month. Ugh !!

Recently I was out with a friend who had a cd with some of the newer tracks by Reflection Theory and I have to say, I wasn't that impressed. While Persida has an incredible voice, there was just something missing. The songs were lacking that "something" that I thought they had when Reagan was in the band. Reagan added so much to the band, vocally and songwriting. I'm not knocking it all together, the album is destined to be better than ok. I don't know...just my opinion. I hope they do well though. They've worked hard this year.

STPH -- I guess you're right. There are worse habits out there....... Is there any habit that doesn't deplete your pockets though? :-)

The bad thing about collecting CDs is you can never have enough of it !!! They always come out with new albums, re-released, re-mastered, not to mention those "LIMITED EDITION."

I guess I can relate with Joel now. But I could never live without having a bank account. Otherwise, I would never be able to cash my pay checks. :-)

How many CDs do I own ? I never really count them, STPH. Oh well, they're simply uncountable........ Easily 5000+

I'm actually remixing "Don't Promise Me" with Reagan's vocals. I've done it a little on the glitchpop side. They had given me the track before he left the project, and I finally got the track working. I think I'll only use it at the club though, being that the original is one of my floorfillers already.

    Default RT talk

Anyone who buys the Reflection Theory album will be very pleased. Persida Aida is a smart songwriter and I expect her to be world famous within a few years. If you like Dido and Sarah M then you'll immedialtely pick up on her music. Several of the songs are entirely hers, such as Be True, Touch and Fading. It's hard to know who did what on the others because it was very much a collaborative effort and I agreed to do what they needed me to do without pushing my thoughts too much. Of the time I worked with them, the proudest moment for me was writing the chorus for It's Been Too Long. That will be their first single and I'm glad they left the chorus the way I'd intended it orginialy. But something to note - Persida wrote the verse melody. Furthermore, she wrote the first verse lyrics and I wrote the chorus and verse 2 lyrics. It's interesting to listen to that song and look for the subtle differences. Chris Brickler later added his backup vocal lyrics to the chorus "Can't you see I need you?" etc. That gives you some idea of how varied each song is, but this was the way we worked - collaboratively, and I have to say I learned something from that, although I'm not quite sure I know what it was. No, no kidding. It was a great experience and I truly predict many great things for them.

Hope you all enjoy and take care.

I have just received my “Reflection Theory” CD. And oh my…….. This is more than I had anticipated. I knew this would be a good album or else I won’t even bother to order it; however, I was really surprised (in a good way of course). I would say that this is the BEST CD by a new synthpop act I ever picked up this year.

One unique thing about RT that differentiates themselves from the rests; They’re not afraid experimenting with acoustic guitars as their main instruments in a couple of songs which is rarely heard of especially for a synthpop group. As a matter of fact, one of the highlights of this album is a beautiful acoustic based song entitled “Chance.” Another stand-out song is “Fading”, a plain piano & acoustic guitar driven melody is simply magic!! Both of those songs above are on the mellow-side; however, there’re also uptempo (your usual synthesizers driven) tracks here. Plenty of guitar-driven tracks in this album. And blending those with synthesizers & piano, what we have is A BLISS !!

In addition, there’re both male & female vocals here. Persida’s voice is sweet & haunting (listen to “Touch”) and Brick’s strong vocal is just rightly balanced a lustful female vocal. Oh yeah, don’t forget Reagan voice. You can hear Reagan’s voice too on a couple of tracks (although not that apparent).

So, I’d really recommend everyone to check this album out. If there’s one thing I can suggest RT, I just wish I could hear Brick’s pure vocal more (instead of the distorted vocal). It’s just my personal preference to dislike distorted vocal…….. it’s just sound ‘rigid’ & ‘robotic.’ Anyway, go & get it…..order it today.

P.S: JOEL --- You have any other synthpop groups you would like to recommend me?
