Non-label synthpop artists ... who are your favourites?

It's amazing how much of this scene is propogated by artists who simply do stuff out of their bedroom. They aren't signed to any "label" as such, but just make and produce the stuff themselves, printing out CD covers on their printer, burning their own CD's, etc.

Ok so .. who are your favorite unsigned artists?

Here's a few from my list: Nukleon, Simulator, Nurvis, Pop Star Who Kills, Madmen in Vienna, Tony Reed, Red This Ever, Piper, Provision (not for much longer tho, it may appear) ... I would have added Loveless here, but they recently got signed to Kinetic Response.

That's just a start. Come on guys! Who are your favorite unsigned artists? Let me know ... maybe there's one or two or seven I haven't heard yet.

As far as I know, Intervox is still unsigned!

Apologies to Jeff Harper for FAILING to mention his most EXCELLENT Darkwave project!!!

A Thousand Apologies ... Hell, his project should be among the FIRST to be mentioned! AWESOME stuff.

Same to Simulator, if I forgot to mention him (I can't remember)

Well I know he posts here on occasion and I don't want him to get a swelled head.

I think Null Device and the new stuff that is being worked on will pleasantly surprise everyone. Of the demos I have heard it is one of the better-unsigned bands right now.

Of course I'm biased since I know Mr. Null, but I wouldn't publicly praise him if he were without talent.

Just to jump in...I'm desperate for new synthpop/futurepop/ebm bands...so any recommendations of bands to check out would be REALLY appreciated...also...i'm trying to track down anything (other than the mp3 page) on the band PROVISION....i just moved to texas and discovered them and am dying to find out more...thanks...

Great band. I think their website is up, I am not sure. But for now, try http://mp3.com/provision ... I had heard rumours about Synthphony Records in connection with these guys, but nothing definite yet.

Especially listen to "Release", a song you definitely won't play on Mother's Day (a son is angry at his mother for abandoning him ... "I regret the day you ever had me")

How about A Covenant Of Thorns? Scott-David Allen produces very depressing, mellow music that is more than worthy of attention! He currently has a full length album "Hallowed & Hollow" on sale. Check it out:
