Did one of my periodic checks of amazon.co.uk and I see they're listing 30th July release dates for new releases of John Foxx's first two albums (Metamatic and The Garden) on the Edsel label. Presumably these are a) the start of the promised re-release program that was to precede the release of the new album The Pleasures Of Electricity later this year and b) remastered, as the old Virgin CD of Metamatic was, while a very welcome release at the time, one of the hissiest CDs ever released.

Does anyone know anything about the specifics of these releases? The Garden is listed as "Plus", so I'm assuming there are bonus tracks. I'm also assuming there are similar releases of at least The Golden Section in the works (since I sold my Japanese CD of this earlier this year for a very nice price but wouldn't mind having it, esp. if they add the bonus tracks that were originally on the cassette).

I'm also awaiting the new album with some trepidation - the teaser track on Modern Art is very promising, but the last time John Foxx released a new album (Shifting City in 1997) it presaged the worst couple of months in my entire life, so I'm hoping The Pleasures Of Electricity doesn't trigger a repeat of that
