And so I found out that I'll be in the LA Area that weekend, I'll be there Saturday...I'd be there Sunday as well, but I have an early flight the next morning.

What is SynthCon??

SynthCon is the first North American Pure Synthpop Convention/Showcase taking place in a couple of weeks in Hollywood, California, May 25th-27th to be exact. During the daytime, we will make available to everyone, round-table discussions with Labels, Bands, DJs, Magazines and Fans. These open forum discussions, which have been set up by Todd Durrant (A Different Drum), will focus on everything from "networking ideas" , "promotional strategies" and everything inbetween. He has also set aside some time in this room for it to be turned into a mini-synthpop-store for those who want to pick up the latest synthpop imports while at the convention. We will also have a room of vendors selling everything from synthpop cds to clothing.

As if that wasn't enough, that's only the daylight hours. During the evenings we will be showcasing 15 live bands such as, B!Machine, Reflected Image, The Nine, davidmahr, Intact as well as the only ever US appearance of Elegant Machinery! Inbetween bands, we'll also have live DJs from all over spinning as many of your synthpop favorites as possible.

Oh OK,seems really nice,with cool bands...
But *cries* It´s in another part of the world...Too far away. I think someyhing like this could happen here in Sweden, that would be great.
Is there any age limit then?

be sure to check out the plastiq musiq booth at synthcon. the artists on that label are fairly new but worth a serious listen. those of you who represent other synthpop labes: go on and talk to the guys at the booth and see what the competition is up to!

Tickets will be available at the door for $24 for each nights admission. Also, you will of course be able to purchase a full event pass (good for all day & night) as well.

Ministore is 3:00 - 5:00 PM in the roundtable room on Saturday only.
