SHMOO (Live) with Support from GLASS DIAMOND
RHYTHM FACTORY – Saturday 9th February
Doors: 7-11pm

SHMOO are a fresh electro-pop duo, hotly tipped by the BBC as a “junior orbital” who “mix mammoth dance, raw garage band and full blown pop brilliantly”. Mancunian brothers, David and Neil Newport, produce and perform their own unique blend of electronic dance music through the use of analogue synths, keyboards and drum machines.

Their vocal lines have a hint of Muse/The Killers with a punkier edge which is combined with their trademark vocoder sound (think: Beastie Boys “Intergalactic”). They layer dirty analogue beats with thrashing drums alongside delicious retro synthesizers (think: Air’s Moon Safari), soaring arpeggiators and hard hitting bass lines. Having just released their debut single ‘Immervation’ as well as the completion of a string of London dates, SHMOO are now preparing to turn heads among the electronic music elite with the announcement of their first UK headline tour scheduled for early 2013.
