Ah. Well, i could go into depth about the pagan origins of "Easter" (Known as Ester, Eostar, Eostre, and etc) But I do not with to conjure a debate, since you simply wanted to wish those a happy easter, and i do not with to infringe on your beliefs.

I'm aware somewhat of the historical lesson concerning Easter. How the Christians persecuted the pagans and all of that. I couldn't write a dissertation on it or anything but I've heard talk about it.
But yes, thank you for not infringing upon my belief that Jesus is wonderful. I don't know what I'd do in my life if I didn't have Jesus. Every morning when I wake up I ask myself, "What would Jesus do?"
most mornings he answers "take a shower" and then I don't have to stink for the rest of the day. Yay!
I see we're talking about the pagan spring goddess Eostre again, are we.
In the spirit of inclusiveness, and because I think that we all need not think alike to love alike ...
Happy Easter, Happy Passover, Happy Beltane, Happy Ostara, Eostre, Spring Equinox ... Happy whatever other spring renewal holiday you happen to believe in, but that I didn't cover due to my forgetfulness ...
This is a wonderful time of the year, a time for renewal; be it the renewal of the earth, or the resurrection of Jesus, or whatever else you might believe in. Rejoice.
It's all good!![]()

Hey now, none of that. If ya wanna bash religion do it in another thread. I don't like the christian religion either, but i don't force it upon others. To each their own, friend.

Hey Joel I'm all for you rediscovering your faith...There's nothing wrong with having faith in something or someone if it makes you happy and complete...I may not be religious myself, but I totally respect those who are
Oh adn I hope you all had a happy Easter too...I had the fortune of being with my family and enjoyed a nice dinner instead of fast food for a change

*LOL* Okay man you got me, but I think you could have been telling the truth...You're the kind of person who's deep enough to admit what you're passionate about without any reservation...At the same time, I can also see you becoming religious or faithful to a religion of some type...Christianity may be a stretch though...I see you as more of a Dharma bum who's caught up in BuddhismOriginally posted by joel_sgx

I do read a lot of Buddhist teachings, especially those of Thich Nhat Hanh... but I'm still hesitant to call myself a Buddhist. Even if I went to Church every week and read the bible and believed that Jesus was my savior and that God existed I would be hesitant to call myself a Christian.
and certainly I would never refer to myself a Democrat or Republican or any other political label too.
but I do like the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh and if you read his mindfulness practices and the teachings of the Order of Interbeing, I think they are right-on and a great way to live your life. In fact, I think that if more people did then this world would be a much better place. I do have some serious problems with some of the teachings in the bible as well as the koran. But we won't get into that right now.
I got the name down man, I'll be sure to check out some books on our next Half Price Books visit...Kris and I check out their store every few weeks to see what comes in
Thanks for the plug mucho appreciado![]()
