Man, I wish there were US dates. Anyone know if De/Vision plans any US tour?

I'm sure they are thinking of it but of course nothing at all is set in stone.

I've heard certain rumours which would make me sqeal if they were true but alas, it's not like I haven't heard those same rumours years before.

Just keep telling them how much you love them on MySpace to show them they they do have a North American audience.

I think most of these bands just aren't aware of how many of us there are in North America. I just have to think back to how many people I met at Sythpopgoestheworld festival in Toronto in 2002 who flew in to see Mesh specifically..

i think the bands are well aware, it's just that it's very difficult for european bands to come over here. the visas alone are hard to get and are very expensive. you basically need 300-400 people per show minimum to cover expenses, and that's with a $15-20 ticket price. easy to get in new york/chicago/LA but harder in towns like seattle/salt lake/detroit/dallas/etc.

i do hear that the pitchfork / diary of dreams US tour in may is finally happening after what seems like years of hearing rumours about it...

I've got an idea. If you guys tour with them in the US there should be no problem getting that number of people. Why don't you have a chat with them while your out there and plan it all out.

    Pretty please?

well, we've already had multiple chats about it... the problem is that we only have time for one big tour a year, and so this year we picked europe (sorry, hamburg beats hoboken)

however, i'm hoping they will find a way to make it happen!

I personally spoke with Andy from Melotron at the Berlin DM concert and he said that they were coming to Toronto in September.

    AND..

that they were not an opening band.

    So my question is...

If Melotron can come, singing all in German - I am more than sure that Mesh and De/Vision can pull the same crowds.

They may pull in crowds in Toronto, but it isn't that isn't the case here in the US. They may able to book a show in Dallas, New York and San Francisco and have a reasonable turnout, but I doubt they could in LA or other cities. I can't say that I am not disappointed that they haven't played more cities in the US, (Los Angeles especially!!), but I do understand. Why play to 5 people when you can play to 5,000 or more on a nightly basis? The Europeans appreciate good music. We seem content with crap on a stick.

Well no one said they had to play a full blown tour hitting almost every state like DM. They could hit the big cities where local DJ's or clubs can verify that there is a scene. (or verify that they get airtime at clubs so ppl know them)

Anyways, my hopes are slim so that's why I am flying overseas to see De/Vision live anyways. I gave up on hoping they'll come.

It's too bad mesh is playing one week later in Germany in the week I have to be home for work deadlines. It KILLS me that I could have gone to Germany to see both De/Vision AND mesh but the mesh dates arrgh..just 5 days too late!! My boss just couldn't let me go during that time.

So that's why I am hoping mesh tour here. I just really, really, really hope they play at least a few shows in North America.

That was 3 of the best days of my life, I remember mesh blew me away, however the best part was when and one had equipment problems and Steve Naghavi didn't miss a beat and sang accapella. ~priceless~

I would travel great distances to see de/vision or mesh or both on a U.S. tour.

And One just blew Mesh away with that performance, and Mesh is my favorite band. Mesh sounds great and very true to t heir recordings live, but its alot of standing around and such. And One just has so much energy. Having the Psyche guy come out during the set was cool too.

Great times, I remember it being in the 90's all three days and on the first night Covenant came out in 3 piece suits.

Yah they had some crazy record heatwave and all that humidity.

It was almost too much inside.

That and with the world cup , a huge gay pride parade, and Canada day that weekend it was insane!
