RAVE REVIEWS FOR COLOR THEORY PRESENTS DEPECHE MODE

Press reviews have started rolling in, and so far they are overwhelmingly positive:

"Hazard has reinvented the songs in vivid ways that will please his own growing legion of fans and those of the electro-pop band he honors. Excellent reworkings of "Sister of Night" and "But Not Tonight" are among the highlights on Color Theory's sixth full-length collection." - Robert Kinsler, Orange County Register

"If you are a fan of Depeche Mode, you should get this CD, it will make you a Color Theory fan as well, if you aren't one already." - Eric Olsen, Dekadance

"This is the best tribute ever done for the band Depeche Mode, bar none. Songs such as "Here Is The House" and "One Caress", songs that were hard to imagine anybody but DM performing right, are here rendered so well that I now think of them as Color Theory tracks rather than DM songs. This is a wonderful, wonderful album, and I can't recommend it highly enough." - Jason Baker, Synthpop.net

NEW COLOR THEORY FORUM AT SYNTHPOP.NET

As many of you know, Electrogarden is closing down on January 9 due to financial restraints. Electrogarden hosts a large and active community of electronic music fans, and their forums are in constant use. Now members are looking for new places to share their ideas. Three places to consider are:

Electro Culture -
http://www.kissmyasterixrecords.com/forumSlothRadio - http://www.slothradio.com/forumSynthpop.net - http://www.synthpop.netThe latter even has a new forum dedicated to Color Theory, so please come by and post your thoughts. I'll be checking in periodically.

DOWNLOAD OF THE MONTH: "ONCE UPON A TIME (DEMO)"

This month's download is the second earliest Color Theory recording, done on a Windows 3.1 PC with a then state-of-the-art Roland RAP-10 sound card. Reverb and chorus were the only effects available, so I used a little of both. I remember having trouble with the low notes, so I sang them first thing in the morning. The high parts were sung in the afternoon after I'd warmed up. To my ears, it's easy to tell that the vocal was recorded in two separate sessions. I even hear an occasional Steve Perry influence in my stylings (you do remember Journey?). You can download the track from Amazon at
