    Default Anyone Using Metasonix Modules?

I am thinking about getting the Metasonix TM-1 waveshaper/ring modulator module. It looks like just the thing to make some wild and crazy tracks. Heres a link: http://metasonix.com/

Anyone have any experience with their stuff? It looks like quality gear.

I had forgotten who they were until I followed the link. Those are the tube synth guys. They look interesting, and there are enough modules that it looks like you could patch 'em together and make a big (in size anyway) synth system.

I'd like to try that sometime. Of course, the temperature from all the tubes would probably require a 5 ton air conditioner just for the room this monster would be in!

On the same type of subject, we use Analogue Solutions Modulars :

The do really well balanced modules, although nothing as esoteric as the link you posted. They are also compatable with the Doepfer modules so you can build a hybrid AS/Doepfer frame.

I've been toying with the idea of building a modular synth for quite awhile now. There are some quality manufacturers out there and quite a variation in prices. It seems to me that the best price/performance combo is synthesizers.com.

For the Analogue Systems stuff, that Black Coffee module looks pretty cool. Electronic Musician ran a positive review of it recently.

One of these days...I'm gonna build one myself, when the budget can stand a hit for a large system. I have checked out the Analogue Solutions Modulars. Looks like their stuff is built like tanks. Synthesis Technology builds some nice systems too. Here's a link: http://www.synthtech.com/index.html

Great link! Thanks Cephalopod. After visiting the link I've decided that I might have to have MAM Warp 9 filter as well as the Metasonix module. O' that my bank account would be mightier than the desire to own all this wonderful new analog stuff!

It is ok. I sampled bunch of shi.t off it, but I am so bored of it now.
You are better off getting some vintage modular stuff.

Electro is House music. If you don\'t like House music, please don\'t put down Electro, because it is trendy to say it. It might suprise you that Electro and House music were invented by Gay Black Americans in the mid 80s. They weren\'t invented by the beatless people who like to coin new trendy phrases.

I am so tired of \"I want to be Depeche Mode or Erasure for the last 25 years.\" I hope I am not the only one. 25 years is a quarter of century and about a 1/3 of human life. If a person spends a 1/3 of his or her life having the same tastes, I don\'t know if that person acquired enough information to have an interesting life or has a problem understanding he or she is no longer a teenager.

So called artists who never change, why do you call yourself an artist again?

    Hey Pop,

Are you talking about the Metasonix module or the MAM Warp 9? Inquiring minds want to know. I'm looking to liven up some of my digital sh*t as well as ways to realy screw up recorded tracks. I'm weird like that.

I love the vintage stuff, since back in my college days I had the luxury of working with modulars that I couldn't possibly afford! Looking at some of the newer stuff from Synthesis Technology, as well as some of the other manufactures, is very exciting for me. I guess my next topic to explore would be "New Modular Vs. Vintage." I want these "new guys" to make it. Of course, I could die happy if someone were to give me an Arp 2500 or a Serge! I might even settle for a 2600. Ha!
