E-MU Vintage Pro

Hi Gang,

I picked up an E-MU Vintage Pro this weekend and was wondering if anyone owns one of these and if they are happy with it. At $400, I thought this was a steal, but I'm quite sure E-MU will be discontinuing this particular model, given the price cut. Still, it's got some great features that I haven't seen on any other module. Any feedback on this model or the E-MU line would be appreciated, since I'm a Roland geek and this would be my first E-MU product.

The Vintage Pro seems to be a good value. I like the 6 analog audio and the SPDIF outs and the 32 midi channels. I had one of the Vintage Keys Plus modules a while back. It held up well.

E-mu always seems to be on the verge of collapse. All the dealers that carry their gear are low-balling the prices. Is this because E-mu stuff isn't selling?

I'm still mad at E-mu and Creative Labs for discontinuing the powerful Paris recording system. I love mine.

I think all the vintage keys stuff has been rolled into ROMs for the other proetuses. The "specialty" modules like the virtuoso, orbit, mo'phatt etc seem to be being phased out.

I've got a Proteus2k which is alright. The z-plane filters are really nice although a lot of the stock rom waves are kind of dull. But as far as it goes it's held up pretty well.
