Thread: "what would you like on your tombstone"

    Default FREE PIZZA!!! What would you like on your tombstone?

    this is just one of my many ideas I think of daily...not all of them are morbid tho. i thought of a photograph with a headstone line with christmas light or something and then the age old question that pop s into everyone’s head, "what will i leave behind when my time is up in this world" y'know a will, that sort of stuff.
    i think it be great to have really interesting tombstone that i made or designed myself...

    like a color lucent lexon plastic headstone that is illuminated from underneath...i imagine like neon letters, reflecting a spectrum of super saturated light...like signs in Las Vegas and Tokyo...and little lights spelling out my name and flashing it out into the night for passers Byers to admire or maybe dislike...

    or a beautifully rendered statue of myself made of like marble, but around the feet are the most recent, expensive, and popular athletic shoes...the shoes are continually updated...

    or just have my skeleton cast in metal and perched upon an elaborately carved ornate pedestal that was the headstone of the grave, --imagine how someone, who actually wanted to have their own skeleton cast in bronze, go by getting it done legitimately after they passed…

    Ah, death. These threads always get me thinking....well, not quite sure what I'd want on the ol' slab, maybe something with my name so folks who knew me could actually find me (or my plot where my worm-ridden corpse would be lying) Oh yeah, maybe something that said.....

    "Here's one more dead with a hole in his head
    He shouldn't have said all the things he said
    Many tears were shed for the blood he bled"

    Those who knew me would get it........

    I'd like to be cremated. Guess I won't get the big rock in the ground.

    I would not care when I am dead. Dead is dead.

    I wanna be cremated too. But if I had a headstone, I would want it to say:

    Don't dig me up, please.

    what would the tombstone, or urn if you decide to be cremated, LOOK like? think about what image you want to leave behind...a symbol, a scupture that marks where you rest...and imagine if their conspicuousness were akin to an adertisment?

    Um, could you please wait until I'm *dead* first?! I was burned at the stake in a past life and it wasn't that much fun, so I don't want to repeat that experience. :goofball:

    I have no idea. I figure that since I won't be around to see it, it doesn't really matter anyway.

    how come it doesnt matter?

    think of it as an exercise in creativity...

    ok how bout a pair of animatronic arms that thrust out of the ground when some approaches it (via infrared mmotion or vibratio)...imagine if you could just scare one person so bad that way imagine what it would be like for that one person to see that happen and run away scared and then for they rest of their live known or at least believe theat the dead DO come back to life...

    or a clever voice recognitiono telephone call sent to a friend or reletive 10 years after you past away, and recieving the phone call was no different for that person than if you were still living...

    if someone actually did these kind of things i would really like them...perhaps ill be the one who'll do these things...who knows...

    I've always liked this, too:

    Do not stand at my grave and weep;
    I am not there. I do not sleep.
    I am a thousand winds that blow.
    I am the diamond glints on snow.
    I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
    I am the gentle autumn rain.
    When you awaken in the morning's hush
    I am the swift uplifting rush
    Of quiet birds in circled flight.
    I am the soft stars that shine at night.
    Do not stand at my grave and cry;
    I am not there. I did not die.
