Any genre...but mostly synthpop, darkwave, EBM and Techno. I don't like genres, some DJs have micro-sized genres into pigeonholing an artist's music. I just consider myself an electronic musician.

depeche mode, erasure, new order...just a small example of groups that have lived in the synthpop "category" at one time or another. check out the music here, click around the top 40 chart, there's some cool music there, TDOL, Droom, Brand New Idol, Halovox Iris, etc...I could go on and on, have a listen, you'll dig it...

I call my stuff electropop, but it's all the same stuff that gets called synthpop or New Wave or whatnot. My weapons of choice are a fistful of vintage synths and Cakewalk Sonar3.

Talk to Pop Star Who Kills about soft synths. He's a big proponent of them.

My music is plain and simple Electronic Pop music. I have no clue what else to call it... but it's popp songwriting with an experimental edge and oft times the sloppiness involved in it.

My tool of choice is also Sonar3 with Reaktor4 acting as my main synth along with Pentagon2 & Triangle. I also have a handful of VSTs, mainly freebies and I'll use Fruity Loops when I need to do anything interesting percussion-wise.

I do occasionally break out my 10 year old Yamaha P50 piano module that I used to use for Jazz and pipe it through my Mic-preamp when I really want a nice piano/electric piano sound.

nothing i here out there sounds like what i hear in my head...(im sure it can be like that for many)...and what i listen to now is primarily what i created which sounds like a modern emulation of space shooter videogame music...with a touch of imitation pop and noise...

i often ask where my music belongs...like why would someone else listen to it except me...i dont seem to mind that im the only one whos does...regardless of how much effort i put in to compose it....it really fun for me...

I compose everything I want to write... ElectroJazz, Electrpop,
ElectroIndie, ElektroNoise, Elektro, and now I am starting to write some Rock tunes.

\"There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterward you can remove all traces of reality.\"
    - Pablo Picasso

\"The world only goes round by misunderstanding.\"
    - Charles Baudelaire

    \"It is quality, not quantity.\"

\"why is it feel like a greatful dead show here? like that hippe that constantly talks about one band and how they changed their lives.\"

PLEASE NO MORE \"I am a robot music.\" You are not a robot. Learn to program better like human beings.\"

Electro is House music. If you don\'t like House music, please don\'t put down Electro, because it is trendy to say it. It might suprise you that Electro and House music were invented by Gay Black Americans in the mid 80s. They weren\'t invented by the beatless people who like to coin new trendy phrases.

I am so tired of \"I want to be Depeche Mode or Erasure for the last 25 years.\" I hope I am not the only one. 25 years is a quarter of century and about a 1/3 of human life. If a person spends a 1/3 of his or her life having the same tastes, I don\'t know if that person acquired enough information to have an interesting life or has a problem understanding he or she is no longer a teenager.

So called artists who never change, why do you call yourself an artist again?

    Genres are limiting.
I prefer the blanket term of 'Hard Electronic'.

I too write partly because what I hear in my head doesnt exist elsewhere.. well put.

I wish someone would tell me what style I write. I have no idea. Id say there are trance influences, as well as DnB, Art of Noise, maybe a little dark-hop and IDM. All with a female vocalist - who someone said sounds like debbie harry. Everyone compares us to Collide and Delerium, but I really cant say either has influenced me (since I don't have either artist's CDs)
I really havent been sucessful in emulating a particular style.

yeah i prefer not to put a tag on what thew band i'm in does.

most people do need a reference point

    so... ebm/trance/drum n bass/house/power noise/ambient/orchestral

currently i've been getting into using a bit of hardware now for stuff other than vocals.

using a virus kb in addition to just about every softsynth made in the last 5 years. sometimes i think it's too many options, so i rotate what gets used.
