British Sea Power. Their release, "The Decline Of British Sea Power" is the best album of 2003 so far. Those in the States can even find this CD for 12.99 at Best Buy. Right now I'm listening to two Heartsfail MP3's and British Sea Power seems better by quite a long shot. Of course that's just to my ears but I can't see how it's even close.

Damn cool music that fans o' Joy Division should enjoy.

Hearts Fail is pretty good, tho I feel like I'm listening to some old goth tracks hearing them. Not that it's a bad thing, mind you, but it has that old Ikon/Merry Thoughts kinda feel to me. Luckily, I dig their old stuff.

If The Faint is being mentioned (btw, they definitely do NOT suck), then I'd recommend The Rapture's new album Echoes. Also, try out Ladytron's Softcore Jukebox which is actually a compilation of band's they like, including wire, the fall, !!!, etc.

I was hoping someone would ask that . . . I was hesitant to respond and only did when I saw The Faint listed.

Yeah last time I checked some bands out there are still into the raw punk music and attitude, so is it not still technically alive and well (though the scene is way smaller and more elite now)?
