Back in the late Ninties I use to go to a club called Tracks In Washington DC. They use to play redone versions of Real Life "Send ME An Angel" and Madonna's "Like A Prayer" I( was wondering if anyone knows these versions and the Artist and can u still get a copy thanks.

    Hi Frank,

Welcome to EGN. I don't know about 'Send me an Angel' but Madonna's 'Like a prayer' was redone by a group called Bigod20. It was an additional track on a CD single they had called 'On the Run'. If the version you heard was kinda 'Industrial' sounding, than this was probably the one. This single is probably very hard to find now but you might get lucky on ebay.

    Hope this helps!

Two covers of "Send Me An Angel" I can think of. One is by Paul Oakenfold (forgot who sang on it), the other was by Ravelab. I would suggest starting there. I used to play the Oakenfold one a lot when I was still DJing.

The BiGod20 version of "Like A Prayer" is also on a Madonna tribute CD called "Virgin Voices - A Tribute to Madonna Vol. II" (which I own)... It's a hit and miss CD, but is worth the price for that song, and Ofra Haza's cover of "Open Your Heart". Good luck. And welcome to ElectroGarden!!!

Actually, after I posted that, I listened to some sample clips. That, coupled with your review, dissuaded me from purchasing it. Thanks for saving me some money.

The Real Life song has been covered by so many electronic artists, it is hard to tell which versions you may have heard (The ZYX label in Germany comes to mind here). I'd check the release copyright dates that corespond to the time period you were in the club. There was also a Hot Tracks remix of Real Life's Send Me An Angel in 1999 which you may have heard as well.

i also have a compilation that has the song "send me an angel" that was done by some eurodisco group called something like Etienne (no, not Saint Etienne). i probably have to dig that up somewhere in my collection.

sorry for the info. i gave the wrong artist name. the artist that did SEND ME AN ANGEL from the compilation is called:

    B. CAP - SEND ME AN ANGEL

the compilation name is : EURO TRAXX

I have a sample clip of the Information Society cover of "Express Yourself" from that Madonna tribute album. The lyrics were altered to flip the gender, of course. Otherwise, it was done in the classic, pre-"Don't Be Afraid" InSoc style.

Trust me, InSoc's cover of Gary Numan's "Are Friends Electric?" is much more interesting.

Nope. I don't believe Faith Assembly has ever done a cover of somebody's else's song.
