I like "Hold on" very much.

I doubt I could have liked Dave's solo stuff even when I was not into DM. It just doesn't have a lot of substance to it, and is unappealing to me.

I had to peek at this too. I love DM, Dave Gahan solo, Martin Gore solo, Recoil, et al...
"Dirty Sticky Floors" was brilliant, IMHO.

Dude, of course you get it. We're the same age and were probably both riding our bicycles to Electric Cafe, wishing for a driver's license. Ha ha.

Really? For some reason I remember driving already when Electric Cafe came out. Maybe I'm wrong, what year was that?

I think it was 1986 which means I had my license too but my parents wouldn't let me have the car. They never did. Ha ha.

I agree with Pop, these two songs are the keepers.

I purchased the bonus CD so having seen the "making of" footage and all Gahan's commentary I can sympathize and think the album is a treasure. He has claimed to have been a puppet. Singing and doing what he was told to do. This album was his, his first venture into what "he" wanted to do and could create. He offers gratitude to the guitarist from Phsychodelic Furs for letting him bounce ideas off him. Apparently the two spent a great deal of time together just flexing Dave's freedom with this albums creation.

While i too think the album sounds rushed, and perhaps a little uncertain in sound direction, because it is Gahans own, i think it worth keeping ... would like to see another album to check his development
it\'s a pleasure to be here
and an honour to meet you ...
