    Hi,

    I can't pick just ten!

Anyway here are the classics I keep revisiting again and again. I guess it is heavily weighted towards the early 1980's but that is around, or perhaps slightly before, I started listening, so perhaps somebody can excuse that! I certainly think there is a lot of great music being made today.

    Kraftwerk - The Man-Machine
    Conrad Schnitzler - Con/Ballet Statique
Cabaret Voltaire - Voice of America
    Joy Division - Closer
    Ultravox - Vienna
    Tangerine Dream - Exit
    Yellow Magic Orchestra - BGM
    John Foxx - Metamatic
    DAF - Alles ist Gut
Rational Youth - Cold War Night Life
    Front 242 - Geography
    Clan of Xymox - Medusa
Section 25 - From the Hip
    Death in June - Nada!
Death in June - But, What Ends When the Symbols Shatter?
    In the Nursery - Stormhorse
    Coil - Horse Rotorvator
Nitzer Ebb - That Total Age
Dead Can Dance - Within the Realm of a Dying Sun
    Laibach - Opus Dei
Sol Invictus - Trees in Winter
    Ordo Equitum Solis - Paraskenia
    VNV Nation - Empires
Kirlian Camera - Eclipse (das Schwarze Denkmal)
    Kirlian Camera - Unidentified Light
Deine Lakaien - Winter Fish Testosterone
Frozen Autumn - Emotional Screening Device

As a music freak, it is really hard to cut the list down to 10 albums. If I was forced to make the decision I would go with these:

    1. Pet Shop Boys- Behavior
    2. New Order- Substance
    3. Chemical Brothers- Surrender
    4. Depeche Mode- Violator
    5. Moby- Everything Is Wrong
    6. Portishead- Dummy
    7. Yaz- Upstairs At Eric's
    8. Fatboy Slim- You've Come A Long Way, Baby
    9. Erasure- Chorus
    10. Smiths- Best..I & II

: Of course this list isn't everything because I listen to a number of the different Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Depeche Mode, Chemical Brothers, Moby, Erasure, etc.. albums all the time. Here's the last time I tried to do an "essential albums" list http://www.geocities.com/djdaftmonk/albums.html in case you don't think I'm not really boring and do this all the time.

\"There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterward you can remove all traces of reality.\"
    - Pablo Picasso

\"The world only goes round by misunderstanding.\"
    - Charles Baudelaire

    \"It is quality, not quantity.\"

\"why is it feel like a greatful dead show here? like that hippe that constantly talks about one band and how they changed their lives.\"

PLEASE NO MORE \"I am a robot music.\" You are not a robot. Learn to program better like human beings.\"

Electro is House music. If you don\'t like House music, please don\'t put down Electro, because it is trendy to say it. It might suprise you that Electro and House music were invented by Gay Black Americans in the mid 80s. They weren\'t invented by the beatless people who like to coin new trendy phrases.

I am so tired of \"I want to be Depeche Mode or Erasure for the last 25 years.\" I hope I am not the only one. 25 years is a quarter of century and about a 1/3 of human life. If a person spends a 1/3 of his or her life having the same tastes, I don\'t know if that person acquired enough information to have an interesting life or has a problem understanding he or she is no longer a teenager.

So called artists who never change, why do you call yourself an artist again?
