I hate calling into work. I did today, because I am genuinely ill... But have you ever called in with a REALLY bizarre excuse?
I did. About ten years ago, I told my workplace that I had been sprayed by a skunk. Got me out of work for two days.
It's sunny, why not share?

i called in late once (on a summer job) because my GF's hamster had fallen into - and spent the night in - the toilet and i had to keep blowdrying it to see if i could get it back to life...

(1) My wife went to the dentist for a cleaning and wound up in the hospital with hives...

(2) Duran Duran is coming and I need the day to prepare...

Strange but true...

I gave up on lieing about it recently; I just say it's for personal reasons. Ya I personally hate you and your company! HA!Second week in July I called out on a Friday and the following Monday because I wanted a long weekend. But then again, my job is quite secure so I don't worry about being a b*tch.

My Aunt's parakeet died when I was 10, or so. They literally used a straw to give it CPR.
Oops.

I am guilty of playing the off-beat hooky day...Hey why not, we've all done it now and then...My last one was last week...I just had this feeling the night before that I wanted to take a drive the next day and see something...So I woke up and called up work and instead of getting out of it easy with a fake "I'm siiick *cough* *sniffle*" on the voiclemail, I got my boss on the line...I just explained to him that I was beginning to get pains in my side from my ulcer, and my medication would make me drowsy so it would be best if I stayed home and rested...I guess it helps to have a medical condition you can count on to get you out of jail free every now and then...

Hey they way I see it, I'm forced to deal with it for a good long time, I might as well use it to my advantage if I can-he he he!!!

I'm sooo going to hell now

Nothing too bizarre... if I don't want to go to work I just tell them I'm not coming in... kinda luck I guess.

I told my boss yesterday that I was having eye problems, and wouldn't be in to work today....

"Eye Problems?" she asked....

"yep, can't see myself coming into work..."

It was a nice day off! LOL

no bizarre excuses but once i needed to have a day off because ehm, i need to go to the doctor for the day after pill....obviously I was ashamed to tell to the executive assistant what was my problem so I told her with a very (false) sad voice I had some healthy problems with my father....without specifying anything!
well the day after, when I stepped into office everyone was asking me if my father has recovered by the heart attack!
you see how people easily change a story into another!
