I was sent this URL from a friend. The video is either genius or
pure sexist -- eitherway, I dig it. I'm sure many of you here have
already seen it, but I thought I'd post it just incase...

Hope you guys don't flame this newbie too hard for posting this.
Messageboards can go eitherway with this sorta' stuff. Have fun!

Skinny Puppy days are so over...
Kevin Key is the one who made that sound.
I really don't like Ohgr at all.

Ohgr, like the new Dave Gahan is crap. And I hate to say it, but if SP does do that 'reunion' tour it will be purely a nostalgic trip to go see them, like say sisters of mercy. Kind of like seeing an elvis impersonator in reno.

As for this song...hmmm, while I appreciate a lot of the new 'electroclash' stuff(Ladytron, Freezepop, Fischerspponer) some of it I just find annoying...thi swould be one of em(sorry, video was just way too cheesey to finish for me)

But...I can recommend some videos I think are pretty kick ass:
like Luke Slater's "Nothing At All", Covenant's "Bullet" or Rob Dougan's "Furious Angels".

Sorry you guys feel that way about the new Ohgr. I personally dig it. It doesn't bother me as much as you guys, or my firends. They hate it too.

Anyway, here is another video I like. I'm not sure you'll like the Electro-indi-lofi genre though. But just in case you do, here it is:

http://www.rollingstone.com/videos/playvideo.asp?sid=487231 It's by a band called THE POSTAL SERVICE. I like them, they've got good music to draw to in the early morning.

You might hate it, you might like it. :) TTYL.

I know they got lot of buzz in the public's eye, because of death cab for cuties, but they sound to me as a mediocore synthpop band. I also heard they suck live. There are few hundred electrpop and synthpop bands a lot better than them. Their music puts me to sleep. That tells you how important marketing plays in today's music and how much role college radio stations play in
independent record music.

Did you get a chance to watch te video though -- it's pretty cool. :)

They're a mellow band, I agree. I wouldn't call them Synthpop though... they're kinda' like that Indi-Lofi thang these days. Sorta' like "The Faint" - lite. But they've got enough goods for me to stay interested. No biggie, everyone is different.

Well... I would classified them as the 80s sounding Synthpop like bands like Lighting Seeds. They are no where close to being the Faint. They sound too clean shaved to be Electro. The Electro is all about being dirty.

Anyway, I luv the Residents. Now, that is a pure entertainment.
That's why I love Alternative 80s. Lots of weird bands were popular by the masses.
