Hi all, has anyone been listening to something perhaps you could reccomend me? At the moment I've started listening to more dark-electro stuff (i still really like all the apop, vnv, covenant etc) but am listening at the moment to Grendel, God Module. Hocico and dulce liquido, Tactical sekt and aslan faction are all albums I dont know very well at the moment but am working through :)

hey-
i don't listen to too much "industrial" (call it whatever you want) music anymore, but here are some discs that have really moved me lately:
stromkern - armageddon + re-align
cut.rate.box - dataseed
headscan - shaper & mechanist
goldfrapp - black cherry
iris - awakening
hecate vs. lustmord - law of the battle of conquest
front 242 - still & raw
any of those would be a worthwhile investment, imo. all of them are truly top-notch electronic records. and the new informatik disc, for those who are into synth/futurepop/trance thing will be pretty good too, although it won't be available until september.

Hecate's "Magick of Female Ejaculation" is INCREDIBLE. It's been in and out of my CD player a bunch the last couple months. I like the H vs Lustmord disc, but I appreciate her solo effort a lot more.
She's a fr33k live, too.:)
Tyler, when the hell is YOUR new disc coming out?!

Check out artz pfusch. They are more on the dark side, and Amduscia as well. Suicide Commando is a classic. If you like female singers I'd also recommend Drawback (more darkwavish but good) and Android Lust.

Iris' Awakening is a great place to start. I might also suggest Fischerspooner's "#1". Incredible.

Hi, thanks everyone for your replies. My boyfriend is a bit of an avid cd collector so we have most of the above mentioned cds (im so lucky i know :) ) im just working out what I like at the moment, and hoping to discover a cd he hasnt yet ;p !!
Hypnoskull - is more what Mike likes (along with babyland etc) a bit noisy for me ! Galan Pix I will take a look at definately as I have heard good things about them.
Stromkern are excellant, one of those albums (their latest) which doesn't have one bad track esp. re-align. Headscan I dont recall, goldfrapp are ok. Iris Hmmm will have to look at. Hecate I dont know (only think of hecate enthroned!!) and front 242 are ok but im not overally excited about right now. Informatik are great.
Arzt & pfunsch I love the track Love amduscia I haven't heard of.
Suicide commando hellraiser is fantastic, drawback i will look at and android lust I wasnt too keen on, I found it quite mettally in places and the woman reminded me of queen adreena (i hope i havent confused this with someone else :) )
Thanks again :)

hello, I am Machinist. new to the electrogarden and I must say; it kicks ass. I have a few suggestions if you can find them; being from Detroit, there are a few bands from this area, that never got their just dues. HEAVY WATER FACTORY / LAB ANIMALS/ BACKSPACE/ CEALUM BLISS/ FIREWERK/ anything by SHOCK THERAPY. these bands range from the melodic ambience of caelum bliss to the dark wave of shock therapy. and on to the heavy industrial sounds of lab animals/ backspace, and firewerk, but Heavy water factory is the best of the bunch. take care and I hope you can find any of these.

Hecate is breakcore, so she'll prolly be more to your boyfriend's liking. Tell him to check out Terrorfakt's latest on Tinman, too.:)

I second these motions... cut.rate.box's latest is solid from beginning to end. Quite refreshing to have a strong electro album without any futurepop influences. Fight the power y'all.
Headscan is the best new artist of 2002. THeir album shaper and the mechanist is beyond solid. And as far as I am concerned... they are the Canadian Haujobb. They've got a very conicise sound, very energetic... very fast... very new school industrial complete with samples up the ass.

Tyler, when the hell is YOUR new disc coming out?!
hi, well, that's an interesting question. the new battery cage record has been completed about 8 weeks after mastering, and we are discussing the release with a popular american industrial label right now. but no pen has been put to paper, so to speak. there are guitars all over it, so i'm certain that many people will not approve, but anyone who wishes that the coldwave era bands could have written songs that were influenced by synthpop instead of metal might enjoy it. our website will continue to have updated information, although we will now be operating in bi-coastal mode. live shows are suspended indefinitely.
the new AEC record is still in the record stage, but will hopefully be complete shortly after i relocate to california next month. i am working with a wonderful new female vocalist who is bound to impress. i would like to see both of those releases hit the market in the summer/fall.
but the question everyone always asks: where is the new informatik? well, it is still underway, i think we're slightly behind schedule right now. but we are shooting for a september release date, with a possible tour in the fall. we will be doing a few shows, for those in california, with a band called Aslan Faction (who i've never heard). that will be in september also, and will be considered a "warm-up" for the tour. we will be trying out our new video projection system as well.
for those who care, the new material will be much more trance oriented than Nymphomatik, but will retain the big melodic synthpop sound. remixes by Funker Vogt, Assemblage 23 and Iris will be on there, and we are remixing some songs from the Direct Memory Access and Syntax records, to bring them "up-to-date" with our current direction. and i would like to eventually update the informatik website too, but neither da5id nor i really are particularly web-savvy, so we must continue to rely on the sporadic assistance of others.
i hope this answers your question, without being too much of a shameless exercise in self-promotion. thanks so much for asking!
btw: sorry, i forgot to say: i have to pick up the first Hecate, although i just ordered "nymphomatriarch", because it sounds quite impressive in it's scope.

we will be playing in LA with Aslan Faction at The Derby, however i'm uncertain whether or not the event will be 18+ or not. this will be a Domination Presents show, so you may want to contact Melody directly.
hope you can make it out!

Everything by Dark Illumination...they aren't very famous, and I'm beginning to think they've split up(no news since ages)...but their three albums are great, one better than the other (but my fav album is called "Dead Planet") .... very sophisticated, cold, elegant sound...

Did anyone mention Feindflug? Was turned onto them a few years ago by one of the guys at Musicwerks in Seattle (the nicest, coolest f****n' staff on the planet....they would play me stuff for hours).
