Once upon a time, due to my hectic schedule at work, I used to miss all the good shows. Scratch that...I used to miss ALL shows that came on TV. Yeah yeah..and people will say there are no good shows on tv, and that they don't watch tv, but there ARE good shows in that tube from time to time. You just have to know what to watch.
Anyways...
TiVo is my saviour. Plain and simple. I love TIVO!

We've had TIVO for atleast a year, probably more... it rocks.. simply having live TV Cached is a huge step up. (while I agree having an "Intelligent" recording system that is hard-drive driven rocks also)

however, the FUNNIEST thing in the world now is when we listen to the radio in the Car... we try to rewind it... very disturbing.

HAHAHAHAHA. so you're saying the next step should be Tivo-Radio. :-)

I just added another harddrive to my TiVo. It is now sporting 200GB. Yeah...I'm insane.

We have a DVR. It records programs, up to 50 hours worth, and with a limit of two at a time. Is TiVo the same thing? I remember Rosie O'Donnell ranting about it.

Yes. TiVo, Replay TV,...they're all DVRs.
Last time I checked...with the new drive on mine...it looks like I can record over 200hrs. ....but I doubt there are 200hrs of TV I really want to watch. hehehe.

On an update about the hectic schedule....
upper management finally decided to do something cool for us. They said that the week of labor day...my group could take off for that whole week. ....and it will be paid time off. WOO!!!
CA here I come!!
....but not till September. hehehe

Thanks, NoirTech. A Tekkie, I am not.
Ours is a rental that comes with digital cable (for an extra fee). The cable box is built in, so the remote controls the channels, any cable on demand, and the recording. *And* you can pause live television! Wow! :)

Say that we want it to record "South Park", it gives us the option to record all episodes, up to fifty hours, with one pushed button. Since it *is* a rental, we can't upgrade... Or can we?

I do love it though. It gets too much use.

Yep...that's what it does. And the programming can be tweaked to hell and back. There are special message boards out there that teach you how to do all that.

As for upgrading a rental...no...you probably don't want to do that. :-)

I'm curious now. What make/model DVR are you using?
