bah - the venue only holds 1200 people.
i dare you, Jupiter, to squeeze yourself into a room with those other 1199 deranged 30 something obsessive duranie chicks...
it takes a deranged 30 something obsessive duranie chick to know how to handle one - trust me dude... its not worth risking your live over and i won't be there to protect you from the chaos!!
take it from me (the commited veteran old school duran from '81 with a dd tattoo) - that show is going to me a mistake.

Talk about your 30-something deranged Duranie...just as deranged and daring as they come! This event is worth the injury and the demise of my bank account...take it from me, a fellow old-school New Romantic who can be seen--albeit very briefly in The Reflex video (filmed live at Oakland Col. 1984--not Canada as some would have you believe).
But Anna, you always have such sage advice...maybe I should listen to you!

You wanna drop $80+ to have women on the verge of menopause punching their way to the front all drunk and territorial like, then knock yourselves out, people...
i love my boys, but not enough to endure that...i'll wait for the full tour here on my coast to catch them again, and i think we'll have some success with our plans *rubs hands all evil like*.
..plus i have things i want to do to Seraphim...erps, i mean do with Seraphim...yes...with... ;)

hey, i'm not trying to tell anyone what to do - just warning you of what it will be like!
i saw dd at the roseland ballroom in nyc (1989) and it was a little less then a catastrophe. too many a$$es packed tightly in a small venue - the show was not only cut short (only lasted for about 30 mins or so) but there were A LOT of injuries and about 8 medical vans treating people outside.
i can only imagine adding to that the hysteria of having all five original members on stage...

Hmmm...methinks that you might be right. If this is the launch of a larger tour I may want to excuse my self from the pre-menopausal fest. Wonder what might be thrown on stage...
Plus, Vegas in July ain't exactly 72 degrees...

The last time I saw DD was back just before Pop Trash was released at Universal Amphatheatre...My brother and I had pit tickets, and regretted the entire night...Oh the show was off the hook, but the women were screaming wild obsceneties toward Simon and Nick, and there was definately some punching, pushing, and even climbing their way to get to the front of the stage...We had to fight to keep our spots against the stage in center...Hey the fight was worth it, we got there three hours early to make sure we got close...
Anna's right, those Duranie women will destroy you Jup...When you go to the show, Baille Con Dios -ha ha ha!!! ;)

And God said, " let Seraphim be single again.... "
Seraphim's response, "bout freaking time, thank you Lord, now that's what I call a buying signal."

ok, so i just checked a duran duran fan message board and if anyone here is planning on going... seriously, be careful.
i read that some girls are gonna be out for blood for the chance to be up close to john and simon's sweat. people are actually looking forward to general admission so they can bully their way thru the crowd since they all think they deserve to be near the guys. lol
another reason to rethink this too is that the ticket cost will be $80+!!! to me that seems a bit steep for GA - hell we paid 42.+ for GA tickets for dave gahan in nyc....

Yipes. OK, OK. I'll save the cash and the sweat for ABC--rumor has it that they are coming to California in September. I need to save for a gold lame suit (Lam-meh--not lame!)

I saw DD in their last show with Warren when they came to Tokyo. Apparently, they had promised to play before the original members decided to reunite, so they had to take a break during recording, jump over to Japan, fulfill an obligation, and get back into the studio. Unfortunately, that was what it felt like, and for my $75...I wouldn't take the chance again.
And I really wanted them to play "Someone Else, Not Me" seeing that was the only song getting airplay in Japan at that time. But they didn't.

Not really sure why I'm hopping on this thread, probably just too lazy to use the search engine, but has anyone seen any new samples of the famous five? I'm hoping for a return to form now that all the Taylors are back in the fold....

Audio samples. Not really bothered about what they look like now they're in their 40's, although I'm willing to bet JT hasn't changed much...

FYI for those who haven't been there before...the Joint is an excellent venue. It's not some small craphole....it's just designed to be very small and intimate. I love the sound there. I mean come on...its the fricking Hard Rock.

No one is saying that it's not a bad venue, Des, cos i've heard what a great place it indeed is--it's just that it's not a very smart choice for psychotic Duranies who literally will beat each other up to get up front...especially for something like this reunion...it's a huge deal in Duranland, and Duranies are known for being territorial...
so anyway...to those brave enough to go, i hope you enjoy it :)
