View Full Version : Who should be on the Uturn series?

Based on a post from PTInc about Uturn 3, I thought it would be fun for us Electrogardeners to throw out some ideas on who should be on the next Uturn CDs. Make it serious, make it funny, who knows - maybe Artoffact is watching these posts!

My suggestions:
Hecate / Venetian Snares - Explorations in breakbeat
Kaltesglas / Needle Sharing - Explorations in drum'n'bass
Gridlock / Plaid - Explorations in Kenny G
Me / Your Mom - Explorations in the bedroom

oooh, nice! i love ncc's "seven steps of nervousness". do you know if they are they still doing stuff? just an amazing, harsh but beautiful sound.

Well... they were doing a remix for us.... but flaked out... ARGGGG

They have a bunch of stuff going... a remix cd... new cd... and a trance cd. What they dont have is a label. And judging from the 2.5 years of production in 7 Steps... it may be 2005 before we see anything more from them. Especially if they lose interest.

Anyway... 7steps of Nervousness is by far the best one hit wonder I have ever heard. Hopefully those 3 kids can prove me wrong and get some more いい out there.

And for an outdated interview... www.blackoutzine.com heh... as far as I am concerned... its the most in depth article you can find on NCC. \m/

i いい you not, they are supposed to be doing an album together that consists of the noises of them having sex. not very synthpop/electro at all tho. if she's anything like him, it's hardcore mindいい drillnbass, which i LOVE. Doll Doll Doll is an amazing album.

Yeah, Doll Doll Doll is my favorite too!! As for this new album w/ the sounds of them having sex?? If it's anything like me, the tracks won't be very long, hahahahaha.

Okay, flame away on that one. But seriously, did you hear the Hecate vs. Lustmord album? The name escapes me, but it is just an amazing release. I higly recommend checking it out.

Well, considering it's usually a AoF artist and someone else, I suggest Blank vs Converter/Manufactura/Cut.rate.box/Syrian(Italy vs Greece:))/Stromkern(they're pals anyway)/The Azoic/Fiction 8

Obviously just Blank (who rock) and a bunch of other bands I like, tho I don't know what the theme would be. They've already done trance and techno, and god know I don't wanna see house, but maybe old school industrial? Straight EBM?

I love the series either way. Yolk rules for putting it out.

I know my mistake but i only read that after the post was made and couldn't be assed to change it, but it still would have been an awesome combo.

Skylizard - good choice w/ This Morn' Omina. However I don't think as a general rule it's all that hard. I think they have one album out after "7 Years of Famine", and it's supposed to be more tribal/drums/atmospheric. One Eyed Man is a killer, stompy tune tho. I haven't heard of Soman tho - I'll have to check it out.

Eurotic - stop raining on our parade :) We'll pick who we damn well please...grr. But I think Stromkern / (someone??) - Explorations in originality would be a good choice. I mean, who does Stromkern sound like? They sound like Stromkern...definitely the most original sound I've heard in a long time. And perhaps we should have DJ Eurotic vs. DJ I.Z. - Explorations in baldness? Hahahah (for those who don't know, this is a cut on myself, not Eurotic. He's sexy. He has this Billy Zhane thing going on. Rar!)

Rustcwc - don't venetian snares rule? I gotta admit, I'm not totally hooked on Find Candace, but it's a decent release.

From this I can take it that you weren't at the Wave Gotik Treffen this year. I had never seen Soman live but had their CD and the were the first act to open WGT and were the best I saw up until TMO played. For me TMO played one of the best sets at the festival, it was hard elctro/industrial nothing like their earlier tribal/atmospheric type music. If you visit their website they have a download " the Ninth Gate" and this is the same type of music that their whole set was based on. One eyed man was the last track they played and as you said is killer and that just finished it off nicely for me, hence my request for the above to bands to fret it out against each other.

Hehe, yeah I'm busted and stand corrected Skylizard. I wish that I could have seen that show. J just checked out Ad Noiseam to re-read the album description I was thinking of, and came across a new one. This is from www.adnoiseam.net for the album "Le serpent blanc / Le serpent rouge":

"Double CD following "7 years of famine". Half trancey and very beaty, half tribal and ethnic, a slightly more diverse album which should definitely get a lot of people to bounce in clubs. "

I think the album I was referring to was "The Future Has Taken Root In the Present" which was more ambient stuff.

But good choices - YOLK MAKE IT HAPPEN!! C'MON!

Ehehe. I think we could definitely do a baldy disc. We could get Tom Shear and En Esch to do mixes. Don't know if they're balding, per se, but they've got the shaved head thang going.:)

Shaved head/baldies unite!!

hehe, let's go for it eurotic! of course maybe i should be left out since i seem to be the only one NATURALLY balding. everyone else is a shaver.

okay, someone help me out w/ my self-confidence now. can someone name someone in this scene that's going naturally bald? or am i the only one? if we can find someone then i want to do:

DJ I.Z. / (whoever you pick) - Explorations in Rogaine

and thanks to Eurotic for:

DJ Eurotic / Asm 23 / En Esch - Explorations in Bic razors

(oh - how's that HaLO premaster sounding? i've been hyping it up and people are very excited to hear it!)

~eurotic
June 18th, 2003, 07:19 PM
Well, some of us use the razor BECAUSE of the crap genetic pool:)

And the premaster is SENT! Alex from Neg Format (a U-Turn alum and the masterer OF both U-Turns! Gotta kind of stay on topic here) will get it tomorrow and master the heckfire out of it. Thanks for asking.

Side-line kindly wrote us up, too!

digitalia - I'd have to be a razor-nazi to say no :) of course you can. all razor brands welcome. even generic ones (heaven knows i like to save a few pennies here and there). of course that doesn't help me being balding and 22.

Eurotic - you're lucky. I looked like crap when I shaved my head (this is when I HAD hair....if I only would have known....) so that's out of the question.

But enough about my baldness....umm Artoffact rules. There, that's on-topic.

Back to NCC, I saw them live and they kind of botched it. They arrived at the last minute, no sound check and no coordination. 7 Steps Of Nervessness is a great album that gets plenty of play at home but as a band, they need to get their いい together because this is what I call wasting talent. They don't seem to be able to carry things out to completion. Maybe we'll see their next release in 2014...hopefully before then ;)

Ha ha... read the Blackout NCC interview. It's funny how they omitted some important details.
