The NYC show was absolutely stunning. Melotron started things off with their typical brand of infectious upbeat synthpop. Andy showed no signs of wear or sickness as he strutted and danced his way around stage. His voice was much better than the last time they were here a few months back. They played several tracks from their latest album plus a few of the older songs including "Kindertraum" which got the crowd primed for Covenant.

After seeing the Swedes 4 times prior, I have to admit this was their best performance. Eskil's voice is clearer, and really comes through in some of the slower songs such as "Invisible and Silent" which absolutely blew me away. The man's charisma and passion really seems to shine most during these mellow moments. Intense. I was fortunate to be right in front of his mike and at one point you can see that tears were welling up as he sang. Some more highlights - He passed the mike around to the crowd during "One World One Sky" where my girlfriend got to sing along (great crowd interaction), Melotron hanging out at the bar after the show chilling with those who stayed, Covenant dancing to Seabound and mingling with fans, sharing a drink with Andy and Edgar (Melotron) and warning Andy (jokingly) to watch out for the SARS as they head toward Toronto (can't afford to get sick again).

Overall, it was all I wanted it to be. AMAZING!

Hey, how was the venue? I was a bit iffy about it because midtown is just a pain in the butt (parking-wise). But how was it nonetheless? BB King's right?

Good to hear that Andy's voice hasn't been affected by his recent illness. I'll be seeing them exactly one week from today in LA!

I can't wait!!! :)

Yeah, basically you can forget about parking anywhere around Times Square, especially now w/ the ticket happy Bloomberg patrol. But as far as the venue went, it was excellent. The stage area was accomodating enough, but the nice thing was that the standing area was a sunken floor which afforded a great view almost wherever you were. The back (bar area) and sides were almost parallel with the stage. So even if you were in the back you had a nice view.

Yes, I have to say it was truley a great show!! Melotron was stellar! The sound was just amazing. It was loud, but very very clean. I absolutley loved when Monochrome started things up for Covenant, then walked out in their "proper" attire! Gave me chills. Anyone who hasn't seen them are in for a treat! Although they didn't play "Rising Sun", or "Winter Comes" I still left happy!

I was there as well and it was a much better show then when I saw them with And One down in Philly. More energetic and a much tighter set, but I have to ask a silly question. What the hell is Clas doing behind Eskil during the show??? As I said, I have seen them twice and each time Clas does this weird performance that seems to look like he is either mocking Eskil or getting ready to push him off the stage. Anyone else notice this?

I think that's what they call "dancing" in Sweden ;)

Melotron is definitely going places now that they are touring world-wide! Before they had only the luxury of European fans witnessing their shows, with fans from around the world only hoping! Now, I think they'll have a bigger fanbase and more support including new fans because they are a brilliant band and put on a really good and energetic show! From the feedback on this thread and in the press it seems that ppl really like them!!
:woohoo:
