>1. are they going to play Chains of Love?

My guess would be "no", but I haven't heard the tracKlist for the concert.

>2. is Vince gay? are the other members gay?

Vince is "pansexual", I suppose. He was married at one point. Does this make a difference?

>3. are they going to really suck?

Not going to bother with this one...

>4. how long is this show going to last do you think? (just in case i want to leave early)

I *think* seven hours, but I may be kidding.

>5. is Blondie going to be there at all?

Yep. And Dagwood too!

>6. anyone opening? like maybe Bowie or someone i may be familiar with

My guess would be possibly "special guests", as the playbill says.

>7. any other information i should know before going to this show?

I think you should stay home.

oh, one more question

>8. are they going to play any of those いいty songs from their last album?

Why go and find out? Sounds like you have them figured out already.

1. are they going to play Chains of Love?

Yes. And I hear they're going to dedicate it to YOU, the little troll in the 10th row.

2. is Vince gay? are the other members gay?

You fishing for a date or something?

3. are they going to really suck?

Only if you liquor em up reaaaall good.

4. how long is this show going to last do you think? (just in case i want to leave early)

Actually, the concert starts 4 hours after the time stated on the ticket. You should arrive then.

5. is Blondie going to be there at all?

No, but Eminem will, hes a huge fan. And rumor has it Vinces boy friend.

6. anyone opening? like maybe Bowie or someone i may be familiar with

No, Bowie wont be there. Korn is opening.

7. any other information i should know before going to this show?

Wear a shirt with a big bullseye on it. Everyone is, so you should too.

oh, one more question

8. are they going to play any of those いいty songs from their last album?

Definitely. Long loooonnng remix versions too:) Yeah!

lol at Joel! Don't let Alex see this post. hehe At least you agreed to go with her to the show. I do give you credit for that even though Erasure may not be your cup of tea. It won't be that bad. You might even get to see Andy's bottom. hehe Can't wait for this show!

I haven't bought "Other People's Songs" yet, but I did buy the "Solsbury Hill" single, and that song is awesome. I also liked their original songs, "Searching" and "Tell It To Me". Andy did a great job in "Ave Maria". Andy has a wonderful voice. "Video Killed the Radio Star" is cool! I love that robot voice.

Agreed, "I'm"....
I am wholly impressed with these songs. "Ave Maria" somehow works, and I'm hoping to see many different styles of music from the forthcoming album of new material.
For now, "OPS" is in heavy rotation in my house! :)

efreak, I saw at www.sirendisc.com that the Japanese edition of "OPS" might have an extra track. Would you know where I can go to find out if it's true or not? I'm holding out from buying the American release of "OPS" because I'm hoping the Japanese version will have an exclusive track. If the extra track is something from the "Solsbury Hill" single, then I"ll just buy the American "OPS".

Stick with the American release. The extra track is just a remix of "Solsbury Hill", available on the maxi-single. You can send the extra cash to me.

Kidding! :)

Joel, I'm hoping they're front and center. hehe I'll find out tomorrow when tickets go on sale at 10:00 a.m. I do hope that it's somewhere close to the stage.

Thanks, efreak. I'm definitely not getting the Japanese edition now. I just need to head over to Tower soon to get "OPS".

all the up and coming bands could learn a thing or two about how to stay relevant from Erasure

they had the whole crowd jumping and they didnt have to sell themselves short to do it

plus i got to hear Chains of Love live which was nice

Joel Joel Joel <shaking my head>. How did I miss this thread before now? Hilarious! Bite your tongue!

I'm glad you liked the show though. And it was cool seeing you and Alex there. The show was AWESOME. I couldn't sit still. I was all over the stadium it seemed. :)

Meeting Vince Clark was like THE coolest experience. Cooler than meeting Martin Gore. I don't know why I feel that way, but the excitement I had in going backstage for Depeche Mode, was NOTHING compared to the excitement I felt in going backstage for Erasure. On the way to the show, I was riddled with anxiety. I couldn't get to the venue fast enough ... I was SO anxious. I drove my friends NUTS. They were ready to tie me up and throw me in the trunk, literally.

I asked Vince Clark, "SO, how do you feel about Depeche Mode these days?" Vince answered (in a sexy British accent), "Oh I haven't listen to THEM in years." Now THAT was funny.

I asked Andy, "So are you guys in to Supercross? I think that is SO cool!!! Supercross is awesome!" Andy answered, (in his own sexy British accent), "What's Supercross?" Hilarious! He was wearing the Fox supercross racing garb, but seriously had no idea what the hell it was.

I got my picture with Vince and Andy. They are being developed and I'll post them when I get them back. Joel, I know you are sitting on the edge of your seat just writhing with excitement. :)

ahhh, today is the warmest day of the year to date...about 65 degrees, the first hint of spring for DC Metro.
That means it is time for me to bring out the spring time CDs: Erasure, DM Speak & Spell, Yaz...it's just that time of year for me.

Can't wait to see those concert pics, Kelly.

It's gorgeous here as well, I'd say about 70 or higher. I love driving around town (in my lime green Beetle!!!! FUN!) with the windows down and DM blasting. If I had to pick a Spring/Summer album that I favor the most for warm weather, it would definitely be Some Great Reward. Erasure, I Say I Say I Say and ABox, HOPE <---------- the best album ever produced by an electronic band. Best song by ANY band!

I'm getting those pictures back here in about an hour, but will have to scan them tomorrow at the office. Can't wait to see them!!!!!

Hi! Nice here too! :) 62 degrees! Makes me want to break out "I Say x 3" and "Chorus". Gosh, I love spring fever!

It's very nice here as well (in the 70s) but I've been sick for the entire week, so haven't gone out much :( and have had the urge to play the self titled Erasure album. Wonder if this is a bad sign, hahaha.

Kellyrenee: I can't wait to see those pics too!

I heard the Bowie was working as a keyboard tech for vince... and that Andy was singing a three part harmony version of "O'Lamour" With Andy Partridge and Andy Taylor.

- [snickers]... Bowie "open for Erasure..." [snickers some more]

it doesnt surprise me that Vince doesnt care about Depeche Mode anymore...

i know absolutely nothing about the history between them.. but watching Erasure live it makes sense why he left... Vince has talent, Andy has talent... and i cant really say the same about all the members of Mode except for Gore and Vince and Gore cant be in the same band together because they are both songwriters and Gore comes across like a control freak which makes me think that that was the reason that they lost the Recoil guy whose name is slipping my mind at the moment

Andy is a better entertainer as lead singer than Dave Gahan imo

Ohhh boy...here we go again. Why do you have to say things like that? It gets everyone all upset! :) Tell me you did that on purpose just to start trouble. lol
