PC Mixer Question

I'm about to embark on making a custom CPU for djing and music editing. It’s a Dell Optiplex GX1 with a P-III processor and I think a 40 or 60 gig hard drive. Probably around 256MB memory. It has a standard soudcard which I'll probably have to upgrade. I'll be adding another 256 MB of memory along with another 40 or 60 gig hard drive and another CD drive. I may try to make it a duel processor. But that will remain to be seen.

So I am looking for any advice on this. What may be good to do? What may be a total mistake? Am I missing anything? I'd appreciate any input.
