I must be quite insane, but for some reason I am drawn to that show like a moth to a flame. I don't know if I'm misty because it reminds me of the Kiss the Star thread, or just because I like being assaulted by heavily-vibrattoed renditions of "My Girl..." Perhaps I just enjoy the pained expressions of Randy, Paula, and Simon as they sit through Elvises, Dorothys, and others.

Again, in reference to an earlier thread, we need an EGN idol. Travel to LA, Texas, NY, and London. Imagine, thousands of people lined up with their Fantoms, Junos, M1s, and laptops covering the classics like only our EGNers can. Were I not so incompetent at doing this sort of thing, I'd love to set it up.

Kirilian, Amyagogo and Electroswank must sit as judges (well--maybe Pop ,too). That's my only requirement. Elsewise--have at it!

Sadly, I watched almost the entire thing last year and I distinctly remember saying at the end of it that I was not going to sit through it again next year. The time has come and where do I find myself? Glued in front of the TV, suffering and laughing through all the auditions. Like Jupiter 4, I am strangely drawn to this show (as I am with most reality shows). Yes, yes. I am well aware that it is an insult to my intelligence but people, they amuse me so and make me sad all at the same time. I missed the first showing of it but I noticed last night that even the people they were choosing to go onto Hollywood weren't all that 'great'. More like, "well, you weren't as bad as the last person so, yeah, you're going to Hollywood". Maybe it's just me.

Why oh why do I watch reality TV? Joe Millionaire, Fear Factor and The Surreal Life....heh.

Thank God. Thank God for you. Brilliant.

and who could forget, "well, you are only three people in all of show business...we'll be back, look for our album..."

How can you look away? Not sure why the judges don't stop them half way through a rendition of "The Greatest Love of All" that is reminiscent of screeching cats. There seems to be a sadistic quality about the judges that is oddly appealing. If one is to go down in flames, might as well make it good...I can just imagine the poor families having to sit through the same songs over and over again, as the contestants attempt to prove that the judges were mistaken...

Love the national anthem kid...the Car spankled Banger, or whatever he choked out...

i watched both nights too! lol
its amazing how in like the thousands of auditions they had to sit thru that only handfuls of hopefuls have A shread of talent...

I swear if i hear another faux singer come up and do another r and b song with bad vocal acrobatics i am going to fly down to where ever they are holding the compitition and personally kick the sh|t piss and balls out of those people.

but you know.. i wouldn't have been as nice as Simon was to some of those people! yes jupiter, i would gladly take a position as judge (how did you know amy and i were talking about this the other night?) LOL

Amy, don't be ridiculous...

I know just what I am asking for...

Perchance we could use MP3.com as a starting point? Those who proceed to the second round can post some sort of video online?

Ooooo...something evil this way comes...

Yeahhh I too watched the last two days of it.. Why is everybody trying to act black or sing black? Not to sound like a racist but my black friend even said yesterday why is everybody doing the hand gesture, it's soooo annoying.. It's so funny cause he's black and he doesnt even want to listen to R&B anymore... So therefore I lend him my Die Warzu tape l.o.l...

Why is everybody singing R&B, sheeeeshhhhh the world seems to only to know that genre it seems like but maybe I'm wrong.. Can anyone sing atleast a Billie Holiday or even Ella Fitzgerald or maybe even Erasure(hmmm bad example), Siouxie and the Banshee song, be original atleast.... Anyways it's one of the best comedy shows I'd ever seen..

I actually heard a couple people singing Stray Cat songs but those were only tiny filler snippets. Heh.

Please, Amy...we've all seen your pictures.

You are wonderful. The bachelorette--seems OK, but 'Meet my Folks,' now there is quality television. Robbery, fraud, debauchery...that is the show to be on...

Too good to be true bachelors--says it all right there!

Oh, and Brian Setzer must be crying his eyes out...

You've the job, Mr. Blue!

Evil, seedy, what have you--come as you are. But we'd have to throw in some sort of Britpop, etc. act...just so you could lay into them a bit. Very cathartic.

Holy ^&^(!

Did I just get promoted from Associate? Just for bring up this topic? Thank God for you, EGN, brilliant!

That Poster of Murdoch and Blair looks lovely in the toilet for some unknown reason lol
