December 3, 2002 sees the release of Invisible College's new single 'CDS01-Lift'.

OMD fans around the world have arms extended for this release as the short preview clip of Lift has led many to speculate that had OMD done a continuation of their seminal album Architecture and Morality - this is precisely what cinematic audio might have awaited the listener.

That Invisible College could wrestle such comparison from such a tiny tease is tribute to the simplicity and self-control of their craft, and dedication to putting imagery back into music. I can now tell you that the track will, in fact, satiate those with an appetite for what might have been, and demands multiple and immediate replay.

At just over four minutes, the track breathes, and lilts, on its journey to the pitch-bended synth-line that underpins this track's title. Several audio treats reach the eardrum during this journey, and leave, posing, perhaps, as the spice the listener will recall long after the meal has become part of their make-up. The track begs for an orchestra-infused extension - anything to keep the experience going. Anything to prevent that final leap.

OMD references aside now, if this is the track that commands people's attention and brings ears and minds to bear on other uniquely Invisible College offerings, so much the better.
