This is the band that rose from the ashes of Intact.. The latest incarnation of Ken Porter's synthetic musical mastery matched with a new vocalist, Garrett Miles. The duo combine to introduce themselves to the world with one of the most addictive synthpop songs I've heard in my years of listening, "Two".

Featuring a very strong chorus packed with emotion, and a sense of frank honesty in the lyrics that I found really appealing. Simply put, it's a song you have to hear. The single mix features a slightly lowered tempo (compared to the demo I've heard, nut that might just be me imagining it), a little less vocal effects, and a somewhat stronger bassline. But it doesn't take anything away from the song, it just gives a new perspective on it.

The B-Side, "So Easy", is a more laid-back track than the title track, but still is very enjoyable. I really like the backing vocal effects in the chorus, they really add a lot to the song.

Of the remixes, I'd have to say the "Atmosphere" mix is my favorite. The Bitshift remix reworks the track to a very club-oriented track, but leaves behind a lot of the emotional punch of the original in the process. That, and it repeats a few vocal samples over and over.. that gets old quickly. The Atmosphere remix doesn't fall prey to that problem though, and while it takes the music in a somewhat Neuroactive-esque EBM direction, ti still leaves the heart of the song intact. I like it a lot!

The second b-side, "Inner State", is short instrumental track. I can see this track being used as the intro for the upcoming album. It's relatively short, but brings in some interesting synth sounds, and then fades out before getting old or repetitive.
The Voxless mix is the single mix, sans vocals. It's neat to hear a song that can stand on it's own without vocals. Sometimes I think that a good goal to keep in mind when writing a song would be to make sure the song would work as a instrumental first, and then add the vocals.

Anyway, this is a single you owe it to yourself to hear. This is one of the songs I want the world to hear.. to prove synthpop is truly excellent music to be reckoned with!

Score: 9/10
