I was watching VH1 Classic on digital cable today, watching Alice Cooper veejay Halloween videos, when I came across a video for a song called "Like a Ghost" by someone called Ignatious Jones. The song was very early '80s electropop, at first I mistook it for an early OMD song. Anyone have any info on this guy?

funny thing is, this is a cover. The song, LikeAGhost, was actually written by SteveKilbey, lead singer/bassist for theChurch (of UnderTheMilkyWay fame). On one of the releases by IJOnes, it also includes another Church cover, It'sNoReason (from their album Seance).
The song in question originally appeared on theSlowCrack, SteveKilbey's solo album

How funny I must have been watching the same time you were David - I saw that same video too (the one with the 'Ecsher-esq' building behind him as he's walking)

Neither Kris or I knew who he was tho Kris remembered the video vaugely. Thanks for the info Fen!

yeah, well, theChurch and anything related happens to be an "obsession" of mine. theyre releasing a remix album titled "parallel universe" on Nov 5.

of note, related "electro" releases (relating to theChurch) include:

Skulker. again, Tim related.

also, SteveKilbeys solo/project releases have electro edges to them.

Hex. electro-acoustic. great. some fans herald this as a precursor to triphop, tho i personally dont hear it. tho some elements are there. released 89-90.
